FIONA's POV
"Okay, let me say it in a way you can understand since you're apparently the dumbest person alive" I sighed
"Hey", he protested.
"Okay... Mom, Dad, who are different races, fell in love, and gave birth to me- Fiona. My world went up in a big boom boom because of war and everybody died" I continued.
"Mom tried to save Fiona by bringing her to the human world. But the portal closed before Mom could get out" I turned to him
"Then... Mom's body went up in a big boom boom, so she joined herself with the portal, which is also this river, to stay alive" I narrated very slowly
"Ohhh...So.... the portal is this river? Which is your Mom?" Louis scratched his head. "I just said that!" I screamed in frustration.
"This is so confusing," he said, shaking his head. The river violently splashed on him "Mom! Please stop, Louis is my best friend... my only friend" The liquid on his clothes followed the motion of my hand back to the river.
"Wha-" he touched his shirt and gazed with widened eyes. "Louis, I can show you a thing or two I've learned but don't freak out, okay?" he paused for a second, probably rethinking his life decisions. He gave me a thumbs-up.
"Wind" a mini tornado formed around my finger, I placed a hand-sized stone on an opened palm "earth" it crushed to dust, Louis flinched "how did you-" I chuckled at his expression.
"And there's fire" he jumped as fire sprang from the tip of my fingernails like candles on a birthday cake.
The water took the form of a ball, It rested on my hands "this is water" Louis shifted as I moved closer "it won't harm you" I withdrew, "I like it, it's beautiful" he adjusted "Yeah it is, but when it gets dangerous-" It froze as I applied pressure "...it may harm people" I turned it back and dropped in the river.
Louis stared without saying anything, I dusted myself "I-I should go, it's evening already. You can come to my place for a cup of coffee, I owe you" he wore a smug look "if you insist" I rolled my eyes and exhaled. "Bye Mom, see you tomorrow" her waters waved calmly.
My house in Diadora was similar to the one in Magnolia. It had a dark brown roof, three steps to the entrance door, a lighter shade of brown on the walls, and a big window. It had a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
My bed was neatly arranged in Lilac sheets, the right side of my bed had a stool where I kept my lamp, my wooden chair and table were by the corner of the room, the blue pen lay close to my big black notebook, it had the two novels I borrowed from the local library organized in layers.
"Make yourself at home, I know it's not much, I'll be in the kitchen" I gave a small smile and then left. The kitchen was a small U-shaped design, I stored my utensils inside the golden brown cabinets.
The cooker was positioned not too far from the sink, the basic ingredients were kept on the counter with my machines like the blender and coffee maker. My vegetables were in the fridge.
I returned with the coffee, Louis sat on the bed, his hands laced with an intense stare at the floor. I called him several times but he didn't answer, he gasped as I tapped his shoulder.
"A-Are you okay?" I tilted my neck "yeah I'm fine. Thank you" Louis held the cup and took a sip "Mmmm! This is nice" he took another sip "Thanks, if I may ask, what are you doing here in Diadora?" I sat next to him.
"My Mom told me to watch her branch here for some months... I'm also shooting for my part-time modeling" he whispered the last part with a small smile. "That's cool, I can't wait to see them" I grinned.
Louis bowed his head, he had a gloomy look "What? I-Is something bothering you?" I asked "I was afraid I'll never see you again, I'm still trying to process everything" he exhaled "Take all the time you need" I rubbed his back with a chuckle.
I too was afraid. Afraid I'll never see my best friend, afraid I'll never see the person that always stood by my side, afraid I'll never see the one who saved my life.
"Look, I just want to apologize for hiding-" Louis waved "Nah, it's fine" I shook my head "No it's not! You opened up to me about everything but I failed to reciprocate your trust which led to bigger problems" I blurted out.
Louis smiled at me "It's okay, you had your reasons, besides, no one can see the future. Back then... I didn't dare to tell you the most important thing" he glanced at me "If I don't tell you now, I might lose you again" I held my breath as my heart raced.
"I-I Ehem..." Louis stole a glimpse from the corner of his eyes, he held his shaking hands together and took a deep breath. I have never seen this side of him.
"I-I like you" he looked away as I paused with my eyes and mouth open. He must be kidding, he had to be. There's no way, it's impossible.
I laughed like a robot and hit his back to reduce tension "nice one" Louis wore a sad smile "I knew it, you wouldn't believe me... but it's okay, we can still be friends" he bowed his head with his shoulders slumped "thanks for the coffee" he whispered and walked to the door.
Seeing him like this hurts the most, I tried my best to ignore those feelings for a very long time. The secret I was trying to protect is already out, what's there to lose?
I ran and pulled him "I like you too! I-I just don't want to hurt you, I'm still learning about myself and-" Louis grabbed my waist and pressed a kiss on my lips
