FIONA's POV
My eyes widened, time froze for a second as my brain processed everything. I knew what he was talking about but I needed to confirm, "What wedding?" I said.Louis' brows arced, "Ours? We need to make preparations, I'll invite only a few if you want," he said.
The thought of getting married to him turned my cheeks pink. Everything is moving too fast—maybe it's just my racing heart.
"When are we leaving?" Nicholas said then stared at me.
"In three days, Is that okay?" Louis looked at both of us. Nicholas bowed his head and left.
"Was it something I said?" I turned to him.
Louis shook his head, "He's worried, maybe it's Erica,"
He sighed, "Alright, I need to start packing."
"Same," I said.
...
I stopped by the river to tell Mom about everything, she didn't stop apologizing for all the wrong things she did. I know she was looking out for me but I have people I can trust.
"Mom, I understand. I wish you could come but I'll tell you when I visit again," I said.
...
Finally, I was going back to my hometown, Magnolia, it'll be nice to see it after so many years.
Louis sent a car to help with my luggage. When we got to his house men in black suits moved everything to the jet.
"You look good," he glanced at me.
It worked, we got to be together after everything. The current flowed in my veins as his hands brushed over mine. It was nice getting our happy ending—but I worried about his best friend.
"Is he okay?" I said.
"Did something happen?" Louis said.
"What about Erica?"
"Don't bother, she's coming too," he said.
"Yay! Everyone's happy," I grinned.
We started the journey, it was my first time traveling by air. I tried not to stare so much. Louis sat with Nicholas, two seats in front of me.
I darted my eyes then my body stiffened at the figure next to me.
"Hi! I'm Erica, you?"
I flashed a smile, "Fiona, I heard a lot about you"
"That's nice," Erica giggled.
We arrived at a magnificent structure, the golden lighting lit up the brown house. The rectangular brown jet hangar was decorated with rose gold lights, we descended and parked close to different designs of private jets.
"Ah! Finally," Louis threw his head backward with a sigh.
"We're here, ladies," Nicholas said.
A group of men dressed in black came from the corners of the building to assist, like they were already prepared.
...
I took a bath and wore a Sapphire long-sleeved pleated gown and black wedge.
I leaned on the wall, biting my pink nails. "What if she doesn't like me? It won't be easy, What will I do?" The knock interrupted my thoughts.
"Come in," I said. Louis popped his head, he glanced at me and smiled, "You'll get along, you have nothing to fear," he said.
"Okay," I inhaled.
Louis' mother was seated on the white couch, fluffy black and white pillows at the edge. "ouch," I glimpsed at the grey pillar as my shoulders bumped into it.
She looked at both of us then arced a brow at Louis.
"Have a seat," Rita said.
"Who's the pretty lady," she said.
"Oh, this is Fiona, remember?"
Rita squinted, "Oh! Yeah, she worked in my restaurant when she was younger. How're you doing? What brings you here?"
My heart skipped a beat. "I'm doing well," I was about to say something before Louis spoke first.
"I've chosen my bride," he smiled at me then turned to his mother.
"Oh," her smile vanished like she was disappointed. "Hmm, I see," she forced a smile.
The breeze from the air conditioner filled the atmosphere.
"Did your father agree to this?" Rita said.
"Yeah... kinda," Louis said.
"Okay then, welcome to the Walter family," she smiled at me.
"Thank you," I grinned.
...
Rita took me to Magnolia fashion house, Erica decided to tag along. We took the elevator to the fifth floor.
Mavis, dressed in a black suit inspected the pendants in the glass case. "Mavis, elegant as always, how's business?" she said.
Her silky black hair flipped, Mavis touched the bridge of her shades, "Rita!" She hugged her.
"Great, and the restaurant?" Mavis said. "Going smoothly," she said.
"We came to pick a wedding dress for Louis' bride" Rita whispered. Mavis darted to me and Erica.
