FIONA's POV

Griffin also loved the taste of chicken, pizza, chips and hamburgers.

We took a trip to the library at dawn, Griffin vacuumed the words with his eyes, his buttocks halfway to the ground.

He refused to leave until he borrowed his three best books. We barely passed the door when I darted to a couple, about my age sulking faces by the red brick wall.

"Let's do that," Griffin pointed "no!" I smacked his hand, he made a confused look "why not? You do it with Louis" I pinched the middle of my eyebrows, not knowing if he was pretending or just plain stupid.

"We're dating so I can, We can't kiss cuz we're just friends... without feelings," I explained, "when can I kiss?" Griffin said, "maybe when you find someone who has feelings for you?" he nodded, "then we kiss?" I gave him a thumbs up "exactly!"

"Kiss who?" I screamed and jumped to the sky "Louis! You're in the library,?" I said, "I came to get some book recommendations for Nicholas, you?" Louis said then darted to him "finding new hobbies, for Griffin, he likes reading" I answered.

Louis stared suspiciously for a while, "and the kissing?" he looked at him "part of his bucket list" I flinched as Louis broke into a long laugh "seriously? You need to meet my friends," he wiped a tear.

"not nice" I frowned, his cheeks were like balloons as he swallowed his incoming laughter "I'm sorry"

Louis' phone rang, he frowned for two seconds before picking "okay, I'll be there soon" he said in a dull voice, he glanced at me then hung up.

"Dad needs my help this week, I promise I'll return next week, okay?" He's leaving, again. We hardly spend time together, it's like we're drifting apart every day, my heart is not prepared to leave him a second time. He kissed my nose, I returned to reality with a blink then watched as his shadow faded into the sunrays.

I gasped as I heard a voice "you have something in your eyes" Griffin said, I touched the edge of my eyelids with my finger "thanks"

...

I just stared at the ceiling in my bed. I wondered how we would find a way this time, I just need to keep in touch and avoid negative thoughts.

I tried to call him but he didn't pick up. I assumed he was working or taking a nap. The following day I took a cloth along with me. We watched different genres of movies but his favorite was horror, action and romance.

When that was over I looked at Griffin "I'm done with my hobby hunt, you should keep on trying new things to unlock more" he thanked me before we parted.

A week passed and Louis had not been picking my calls. I couldn't talk to anyone but my Mom about this. I paced back and forth pouring out some steam.

I expected a reassuring pep talk from her but instead, she told me how humans, especially the teenage guys are reckless and carefree.

She said he must have lied about work to take a break from me allowing him to meet hot girls in hotels, "no way! Stop! Louis is not like that... he's a good guy" I smiled.

I tried to call again but there was no answer. "Maybe it's network issues or something is wrong with his phone."

I stopped talking as I saw Griffin walking towards me, my eyes widened as he hugged me and patted my head "do you want a lollipop?" I smiled then shook my head "I'm fine, thanks."

Griffin asked what was wrong and I told him I was just worried about Louis. I didn't go further to prevent him from feeling sorry for me.

...

I expected Louis to come the following week but he didn't even send a text. My brain was filled with the worst possibilities, I didn't visit my mom the whole week for the sake of my sanity.

On Sunday, it was 10 am when a notification popped, I picked up the phone and saw a text from Louis "hi! Where are you?" I rubbed my eyes to confirm the sender then replied  "In my house"

I heard a knock, roughly after forty minutes. I opened the door and saw Louis in an oversized electric blue T-shirt and black jeans, he looked like he just grabbed the first thing in his wardrobe.

There were a lot of things I wanted to say to him, I buried the urge to slap him in the face, I parted my lips to talk but burst into tears. He pulled me into a bear hug "I'm so sorry, please don't cry" I squeezed his shoulders and sobbed harder.

After what felt like forever, the stream dried up. I slowly sat on my bed then stared into his eyes "what happened? I need the truth"
