FIONA's POV
"Oh... you're jealous" Louis said with a smirk
"That's not the point here!"
He sighed with a serious look "You're right, I'm sorry... I promise to call before the game"
My frown vanished after his reply, I wasn't expecting him to say something like that.
"... and Suzy was telling a joke about how our opponent's faces will look when we beat them... she was just impressed. That's the only fun we had honestly" Louis put his hands up in a surrendering manner.
My mind was at ease after his explanation and I couldn't help but smile "Okay, I forgive you"
He returned my smile and we shared a moment of silence before he broke it
"Are you busy right now? We could just hmm... hang out t-that's if you're cool with it"
I nodded my head with a short smile then he grinned.
"Great! Let me just take a quick shower" I watched Louis as he jogged to the school building and I could just imagine how hot he would look on the soccer field.
After waiting for less than an hour Louis walked up to me wearing a white shirt beneath a red jacket, black jeans and white sneakers.
"Let's go" he held my hand and we walked out of the school. I admire his boldness a lot and I thought it was the reason why I didn't resist. I was about to ask him where we were going before his phone rang.
He dipped his hand in his pocket and I noticed his eyebrows creased for a second "I need to take this"
"Why are you calling at this time of the day?" was the first thing he said followed by a murmured 'no'
I decided to listen to their conversation and I heard the caller telling him his Dad will be back any minute.
"Why did he change his mind? I'm really busy right now"
"Soccer practice must be over by now... what are you doing?"
"Nevermind, tell Richard to come to Dian"
"I will"
Louis hung up and didn't say anything for some time, he looked like he was thinking about whether to tell me or not.
"Hmmm... Fiona, I need to go I promise I'll make it up to you" I waited then nodded with a small smile.
"You're not mad?" he arched a brow staring into my eyes then I nodded again. I was feeling a bit disappointed and sad but it looked like he really needed to leave.
"You can go if you have things to do, my ride will be here soon... or we can go together"
"No thanks... bye" I flashed a smile then he waved and faked a smile.
I turned to head back home feeling a bit guilty about my reply.
LOUIS' POV
As we drove to the mansion I couldn't stop worrying about my Dad getting home before me. The thoughts of what happened four years ago came rushing.
My Dad traveled on a Friday and said he'd be back on Sunday, my friends invited me for a party and after much thinking I agreed. When I got back an angry Dad was waiting for me in my room
"Where were you" the tone of his voice sent shivers down my spine
"I-I was hmm... my friends invited me to a birthday party"
"And you were quite aware you had ninjutsu lessons"
I bowed my head, unable to give him a reasonable answer. My heart was pounding and my fingers trembled.
"Give me fifty push-ups and don't stop until you're done!" I quickly obeyed but paused at thirty.
"Again!" he yelled and I started from the top. I couldn't make it and he made me do it all over until my hands felt numb and I couldn't move.
"Next time don't skip your lessons" were his last words before he walked away.
"Hey Lou, we're here" I blinked then turned to Nicholas holding the door.
"Let's go" I jumped out and walked to the mansion with my men trailing behind. I looked around but didn't see any of his bodyguards then I let out a sigh of relief.
I freshened up and went for my dining lessons. After a short time I heard uniform greetings coming from the door then it opened. My Dad was dressed in a dark blue suit, white shirt and black shoes, his blonde hair looking neat as usual.
He exchanged greetings with my teacher and darted his cold-looking eyes to me
"I hope he's not giving you any trouble" he asked without losing focus for a second
"N-No sir, Louis is a good boy"
I turned to my teacher after I couldn't take any more of that intense stare. After observing for a while he left and I could finally breathe.
When my stressful day was over I went to bed falling asleep like a baby.
FIONA's POV
This week passed quickly. Early on Saturday morning, my phone buzzed a thousand times then I heard my ringtone and blocked my ears with the pillow beside me.
"Oh, what now?" I whimpered and stretched to reach it
"Fiona! Today is the big day, are you ready? I am"
"Louis...This is six in the morning, have you been drinking coffee lately?"
"Nope, I just wanted to remind you of the game by 10 am"
"Okay, I won't forget... Can I have an hour's rest now?"
"Of course, bye"
I dropped my phone then cuddled under my blanket.
Later in the morning, I wore a white T-shirt beneath blue denim overall shorts and white sneakers then wrapped my hair in a loose bun that had some strands falling on both sides.
I was excited and could not wait to watch Dian play against its opponent but first I had to go for my part-time job.
I finished early in the hair salon and the fashion house then I went to the forever busy restaurant where my boss informed me about the important guests we will have.
We cooked for more than an hour because of their increasing number, it was as if they were visiting a tourist attraction.
I lost track of time for a while, after my shift I saw a lot of missed calls and texts from him when my phone was silent.
"The game!" I inhaled sharply and rushed to the school without taking a glance at the time.
