FIONA's POV
I changed into my plain white dress, white shoes & short veil in the deepest part of the forest. I grabbed my bouquet.

I dabbed below my eyes before they could fall on my light makeup, this was nothing close to tears of joy—just sadness.

Griffin was already waiting in his black suit, I took a deep breath and moved closer. Mother did not stop talking about how good we looked. She said I reminded her of herself when she was still young and alive.

She quickly narrated the story of how she met my Dad, "Can we just start already?" I snapped.

We knelt as Mom conducted the wedding vows. She asked Griffin if he agreed to take me as his wife, "yes," he replied, with an indifferent look—no sign of excitement. I couldn't understand what was going on in his mind.

Mother paused then asked if I agreed to take Griffin as my husband. This was it, the turning point of my life, I will live freely and safely now. I'm getting married to someone like me, I'm not alone.

Wasn't this all I ever wanted? Why does it feel like a burden now? Was it worth it? I wondered if I'll ever smile again.

This is not the girl I used to be, I used to be that girl who spoke her mind without caring what others think, I'm that girl who survived alone in the human world, I was that girl who worked hard to feed and house myself for years.

I was about to fix that "No, I don't" I kicked my shoes off and dashed into the forest, pushing through branches and ignoring its injuries and dirt.

I panted, scanning for his jet at the airport. Men in black surrounded a white jet, my eyes widened as a familiar face took a seat "Louis! I found you," I hurried to his direction but was blocked by his men.

"This is private, no fans allowed, please leave" The man in front frowned. "I-I just want to speak to him, please, tell him it's Fiona"

He glared with a disgusted look "I doubt he knows you, please leave." I tried to squeeze in but their efforts were stronger than I thought. I had no choice but to scream his name at the top of my lungs.

I exhaled as I saw his image "What's going on?" the man turned "Young master, this obsessed fan refused to leave, she said she knows you or something" he mumbled the last part.

Louis squinted and darted his eyes "Please wait, I have a confession to make. Just hear me out for the last time" He hesitated then turned. "You were right, I've been lying. I was manipulated by my Mom" I swallowed hard.

"I've been lying to myself, I was trying to protect you, but I just caused more damage. I'm so sorry" I paused.

"My point is, you shouldn't blame yourself for anything, you're a good and kind person. The problem is me." I said.

Louis tried to act indifferent but in his eyes were hidden sadness and empathy. "How about your wedding?" he looked at my dress.

"Oh that," I chuckled, "This is more important. I left, they wouldn't like it but I have no regrets plus I don't want to hurt people again. " I said. Louis darted, "So what are you gonna do now?"

I thought for a few seconds "I'll go back to how things were before I met my mom, I need to leave her for a few months" I replied.

"Maybe in the future, I'll move to a nearby town, I'll see her less frequently," I added.

Louis looked like he was debating whether to leave or not, after a while, he said "I'm just asking... if you could turn back time, what is the one thing you'll change?"

I exhaled "I wish I could have been sincere with my feelings that day, but you deserve better. They say opportunity comes but once, this idiot blew it twice" I shrugged.

Louis looked at me "If I was a genie and I offered to make your wish come true, what would you say?" he stretched his hand with a smile.

I raised my gown and climbed the stairs "I'm so lucky to have you" I took his hand with a grin.

"I would never leave your side again, we'll work things out" I gripped it tighter, he flung his hand in the air "Ouch! What kinda bride are you?"

"Your bride" I moved my hands around his neck, I flushed as his hands pulled me closer. I raised my toes as my tongue swept between his parted lips.

"Louis! What's the meaning of this? Does your father know?" a voice half-yelled from behind.

Louis darted "Mr. Leo, don't meddle in my private life. I'm not a kid anymore" he retorted.

The man bowed his head then shamefully apologized. Louis nodded and stared at me "I'll reschedule our departure. We'll leave together in a few weeks." I smiled, "Okay."

"Are you going to walk on the road looking like a corpse bride or you're gonna change to something less weird?" Nicholas leaned on the door.

Louis took me to his room and showed me where to pick clothes from. I chose something from his wardrobe.

"It's not that bad, right?" I looked at all angles in the mirror. The beige hoodie stopped at the middle of my thighs.

I took the brown brush on the table to arrange my hair, and I walked to the passenger's room, where he was sitting. "I-Is this okay? Your trousers are longer than I thought" I pulled on the edge of the hoodie.
