LOUIS' POV
"I thought you had everything under control?" I whispered with a deep breath while Dylan was staring at me without uttering a word.
"Now let's all calm down, if they don't have proof they would let us go" Jack spoke softly
"What if they do?" I asked.
"I'm sure they don't, maybe it was a snitch"
"I don't think anyone would do that, even an enemy will work with us at times like this plus no one was around when we left. What if they know it's us?"
"Relax Louis, you sound tense, are you scared?" Dylan arched a brow
"No! I'm not scared, why would I?" I hardened my expression and flashed a smug.
"Good cuz we're going now act naturally, nothing suspicious, we don't know why she's calling us" Dylan said then we bounced to the principal's office like we own the place.
I gasped internally as I opened the door and saw Mr. Jake in her office, her expression was not friendly at all.
"Sit down boys" he gestured with her hand and we took a seat
"... is there something you'd like to tell me?" I fought the urge to freak out or look at my friends.
"Something like what?" Jack asked with a smile, I wondered how he could keep calm at moments like this.
"Like... a confession?"
Now my heartbeat was sounding like that of a drum set but I tried to act normal for the sake of my friends.
"I don't think we know what you're talking about, can you be more specific?" Dylan asked politely.
She shifted her focus and our eyes met.
"Louis, do you have anything to say concerning this matter?"
I just shook my head then she smiled weakly
"Okay, boys let me get to the point" she turned her laptop to our direction and a blurry clip of what happened on Friday played.
Our mouths dropped as we watched frozen, unable to say anything.
"Detention until 5 pm!" We got up and Mr. Jake ushered us into the detention room. We just sat down quietly until the teacher left then Jack turned to Dylan.
"I told you to take care of the cameras, what happened?" Jack frowned
"I-It wasn't my fault, I disable and wiped the memory of all the security cameras I saw" Dylan explained.
"Maybe you forgot one, that's why we were caught" Jack folded his hands
"It must have been hidden well for me not to see it and would you stop blaming me"
"Well, I'm not wrong you-"
"Just stop it! Both of you! This is not helping, we have an hour left. I don't want us to quarrel okay?" I cut him off feeling kind of worried about them.
They stared at me then themselves with a pitiful expression
"Hey man, I'm sorry" Jack apologized as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"No, I should be the one who's sorry, next time I'd double-check" he smiled
We began to get along like before, then the teacher returned shortly.
When it clocked 5 we ran out of the building like we were being chased by a ghost.
When I got home I narrated everything to Nicholas
"Uhmm... I think you should focus more on studying than pranks" That was his comment and I felt kinda disappointed but I knew he had to say something like that because he's older.
The news about the pranksters spread like a wildfire, we were getting positive comments from everyone and I felt good about it, something like that would boost anyone's ego.
The first test passed so quickly like a shaft. Maybe it's because I didn't care, they separated the smart kids from the ones, I just wrote what I thought was correct and submitted. Many of us didn't have an option.
After a week the teachers returned for their usual yelling about the poor performance in tests. The worst was Mrs. Jane, she was so pained because we got the poorest scores in Mathematics.
In the cafeteria some days after the teachers' range have been released on us I was seated with Dylan and Jack they were talking about their new dates and I just listened because I had nowhere to run to
"Hey, I thought you guys were dating Mia and Tina?" I asked as I became interested in the discussion.
They turned to themselves with smiling faces and burst into a loud laughter
"They are so last week" Dylan folded his lips suppressing his laugh
"Yeah not to mention they were annoying, I'm so happy we're done with them now" Jack smirked.
I wasn't surprised, they have been into this dating thing for years. They tried to convince me in the past to try it out and the fun part is that I don't have to take it seriously but I declined politely.
My father taught me that girls just want to date me because of my money, their objective is to make me fall financially and I should never date anyone until he tells me to do so and I must concentrate on my business and school for now.
"Okay... who wants to pull a bigger prank in two weeks?" Jack changed the topic
"You know me too well dude" Dylan nodded with a grin
"I think this prank is not so bad... I'm in" I raised a brow with a smirk
Jack's face looked relieved, maybe he was afraid I'd skip this one.
"Don't worry, this plan will be bulletproof, there won't be any trace because our guys showed interest and I decided to involve them... I hope you guys are cool with that?" he stared at our faces and we both nodded.
We walked up to eleven familiar faces, our distant friends seated on a table.
"Yo! What's the plan boss" Tommy had black hair, he's the most fierce school bully and had a good muscular body which he used to intimidate people. His friends, Hugo and Caleb had similar behaviors, both had a different shade of brown hair.
"I can't wait to hear what he planned for us" Robin rubbed his hands with an evil grin, he was similar to Tommy but was nicer and caused fewer troubles, he had light blonde hair. William, Mark and Tony were his closest friends. Tony had a darker shade of blonde while the others had black hair.
We joined them on the curved round lathery red seat and everyone leaned forward as Jack spoke
"We would pull the biggest prank ever in the school without a trace and here's the plan"
