FIONA's POV
"The electricity flows in your veins once mastered" his fingertips zapped, "humans can't do without technology, worthless creatures" he mumbled, "this is perfect for our lesson."
"Come" I hesitated for a second then followed him to the end of the forest. They were people carrying out their daily activities "what will happen during a blackout?" I stared as I couldn't get his point.
"Diadora's light will go off in 3, 2, 1... observe" immediately the lights in the streets went off people began to murmur and walk in a rowdy manner. I couldn't ignore the wide grin on Griffin's face "3, 2, 1," the lights were restored and the murmurs died down.
"Humans," he laughed, shaking his head. We went back to the river and Griffin told me to start with draining my phone's battery.
I was able to do it slowly, bit by bit the percentage reached zero then switched off. "Good" Griffin nodded. "Now try to restore it," he added.
"To hundred percent?" he darted to me "no, two hundred please, of course, it's one hundred!" I apologized and continued.
It tingled like millions of live wires, I directed the energy into the phone until it was full "you learn faster cuz you're a salvin" Griffin commented, I felt a bit relaxed "that's enough for today. Tomorrow, don't be late" his deep tone sent shivers down my spine.
...
I dashed into the forest as if I was being chased by a bunch of hyenas, my life was on the line, I breathed heavily then scanned the beach, I sigh of relief escaped my mouth.
I turned to the sound of crunching sand beneath feet, he stared with a straight face "combat lessons. Show me what you got?" Griffin gestured with his hands.
I moved swiftly and threw punches at all corners but he dodged "too slow" Griffin grabbed my hand and threw me over like a paper. I gasped at the sharp pain as I landed on my back.
I blinked my eyes, still processing what happened five seconds ago "it hurts, was that necessary?" I grunted then stood up slowly "yes, it's all part of the training" Griffin chuckled.
I cried inwardly when he told me we will start from the basics because his instinct was right about me being as lazy as an Elevana.
We trained till afternoon, we were almost done when my phone vibrated on the sand "Hey! It's Louis!" I grinned and ran towards the phone.
I froze as I heard that voice "you're not allowed to take a break till it's over" I stared at my phone longingly then turned back. It was pure torture it rang several times, I just wanted to talk to Louis. Why can't training wait?
When it was over, I heard a familiar sweet voice from afar "Fiona" he stopped running and squinted at Griffin "Who is the purple-headed weird guy?" his eyes widened "you shouldn't expose your Salvin body in public, did I miss something?" Louis scratched his hair
"You know that dude?" Griffin transformed into his human form and I followed, "that's my boyfriend, Louis" I said, Griffin arced a brow "I can't feel anything within" I burst into laughter "he's human" Louis darted at us with his eyebrows ceased.
"Don't worry, I'll hypnotize him" Griffin moved forward with a smirk, "No! He knows everything already. He saved my life" I stood in front of him with my arms spread out.
"Oh, the one who betrayed his father" Griffin said, "yes, for a good reason" I snapped, "hmm... pathetic creatures" he muttered then walked to the river.
I watched him until he was far enough, "I missed you! You look so handsome, what have you been eating?" I smiled at him, Louis forcefully returned the smile then pulled my hands from his cheek "who is he?" there was a tint of seriousness in his eyes.
I turned to Griffin staring at the horizon "I wish I didn't know" I exhaled. I took Louis' hand and crouched close to my phone "I'll tell you everything."
When I was done with my narration Louis made that confused look with a little pout "so... is he from your mom's or dad's race?" I exhaled and shook my head. "Men are Glorindians, women are Elevanas," I said, even though it was not true it was the only way Louis would understand.
"So, how was it?" I adjusted closer to hear all about it. Louis did a total of four shootings for different companies in a week. He said it was the only way to prolong his stay in Diadora.
The thought of Louis going back never crossed my mind, I wanted to ignore it and focus on making the best memories together. But my first mission is to make Mom see Louis is a good person.
"Let's meet mom" I pulled his hands to the river, she pretended like she couldn't sense me then continued her telepathic discussion with Griffin "what did she say?" Louis whispered.
I glared at her knowingly "I don't think she heard me so I'll say it again. Mom! Louis is back" I half-yelled.
She grudgingly told me to say hi to him, "she said hi" I grinned at him "hello Fiona's mom! I hope you had a nice week"
"I did until he showed up" mom mumbled to me.
