FIONA's POV
My pointy ears peeked underneath my silver hair, it cascaded to the ankle of my pale skin, a blue crystal bulged from my forehead, eyes as deep as the blue sea, and my icy blue long gown appeared with a lily anklet on my right foot.
He looked at me for a while "You're an Elevana dominant Salvin. Silver hair is the mark of a Salvin, the problem is from within" he said. I looked at him with a confused face.
"Fiona, do you like being a mystic person? If you could change, would you?" I stared at him without saying a word.
He cleared his throat" when you accept yourself, it'll be over. Midnight transformation reminds those who hate themselves they're stuck with their bodies forever, shitty right?" Griffin laughed.
He was not wrong, I always wished I could be a human, the fact that I'm literally a prey didn't help matters. If only I was born a human "you said you can help me, please do" I spoke softly.
"Did I? " he scratched his head "The answer is self-love. My power gives me confidence" Griffin emphasized with a deep voice.
"I-I like my hair?" I muttered then he gestured for me to go on "my outfit and crystal too" I smiled as he applauded "good, keep this up and it'll all be history"
"Thanks. Would you like to meet my Mom? She'll be excited!" We walked to the river and talked for a while. I thought I was the only one who understood her but Griffin did. He agreed to train me after my mom requested.
That's a good thing right? I'm not alone, I also have someone to unlock the other me. "Griffin, can I have your phone number? For communication" he turned to me with a smirk "why buy phones when telepathy exists?"
...
I couldn't stop thinking about my wild day, it's still a lot to process. Glorindian is a fascinating race but Mom never said anything about Dad being a creep, are all of them the same? I pushed my covers then reached for my phone.
"Hello, how's it going?"
"Okay, I think" he yawned
"You can do it! Good luck on your shoot"
"Thanks, angel, goodnight"
"goodnight"
I wanted to tell him everything that happened but it can wait, he needs to sleep. It was five minutes to midnight, and my heart rate increased with each minute. Griffin advised me to appreciate myself.
Stream of reasons why I love myself rushed in, I peeked at the clock as it struck twelve "Phew!" I exhaled with a smile.
...
I dressed in black jeans, a red top and black flats. I paused on my tracks, there was this eerie feeling in my bones. I listened harder and heard a deep whisper "I'll be waiting by the seaside"
Griffin's hands were behind his back, the gentle air played with the tip of my hair slightly beneath my chin "was that you?" Griffin turned "that's one of the gifts of a Glorindian. You can learn everything if you're ready," he said. I paused for a while then nodded. I giggled as my mom waved her waters in excitement.
"Take your stance!" I stood at attention without breathing, Griffin's eyebrows furrowed "I didn't call you to kill yourself, you look terrible" I relaxed my body and bowed my head slightly.
He moved around me in circles "To be a Glorindian means strength, agility, focus and training. The opposite of Elevanas, we don't depend on nature to do stuff for us" he said with a loud voice.
"The basic powers of Glorindians are telepathy, hypnosis, electricity, speed and control of technology" he transformed into his form but this time he had a long chain
"Every Glorindian has a unique weapon, mine is devil's chain" Griffin twirled the chain above him and skillfully swung it under his legs, behind and over his head as he displayed the stunts of a warrior.
He wrapped the chains around me then pulled it. "Combat is very important" I nodded vigorously as he said with a serious look.
Griffin pulled the chains but this time I twirled back to my position. "We're starting with the basics, telepathy," he said. Telepathy requires focus only, it took me a few hours for me to get the hang of it.
Griffin nodded "you just need to practice more, we can move to the next lesson"
"Hypnosis works easier on weaker creatures like animals and humans. It's almost impossible to manipulate mystic creatures" he darted to me "...or else Glorindians could have killed all Elevanas without moving a muscle" he chuckled lightly.
Griffin raised his head to a blue bird on a branch "you see that bird over there? I want it to dive into the river, or an eagle's mouth" he grinned, "don't you think that's kinda mean, can I make it land on the sand?" Griffin sighed with an eye roll "whatever works for you"
I turned to its direction and focused on it. I felt we were communicating, it was as if we understood each other after some time the bird spread its small wings and descended on the sand. My eyes widened
"As expected, this one was quicker, your Elevana powers helped" Griffin commented.
"As a salvin, it's possible to harness power from the thunder in the form of electricity, but for Glorindians our electricity comes from wires," he said.
"Electricity and technology lessons go together," he added.
