FIONA's POV
I understood and forgave him but acted like I was still mad at him for the day, it was fun to watch him worry like that.
The hall was flooded with students walking towards the exit, some were still searching their lockers while the rest were talking with their friends. I couldn't wait to get home to take a nap.
Just as we were about to leave the school building a heavy downpour started.
Most of the students had their drivers close to the building and escorted them with an umbrella.
I had to wait for the rain to reduce so that I could go home. Luckily for me, it was becoming less stormy so I took the chance and started walking. Louis' ride just drove in as I was leaving the school gate.
After some minutes the rain became heavier than before, I could barely see the road now that it was foggy and all I could hear was thunderous sounds and that of the rain dropping heavily on me,
I wrapped my hands on my body as I began to shiver a bit, because of the water in my eyes I stopped to see if it was the right direction I was taking.
I couldn't feel the heavy downpour on my shoulders again although it was still raining and I suddenly stopped shaking when I felt something warm over my shoulders which made me turn to meet Louis with an umbrella standing in front of me, it was as if time froze for a second just for me to stare at his mesmerizing ocean blue eyes.
"Are you okay?" His voice drew me out of my trance and I just nodded. He hesitated before stretching his hand to shift strands of my wet hair to the sides and my gaze was fixed on him, looking for something I knew nothing about.
"Are you lost?" his stare moved to my eyes and I shook my head, breaking eye contact.
"Are you going home?" he asked and I nodded pointing in the direction and he followed me.
As we were walking I felt the jacket slipping from my shoulder but I held the base tight without saying a word, I didn't know how to tell him after the prolonged silence.
Shortly after he pulled the jacket to fully cover my body, my heart skipped a beat and a gasp almost escaped my mouth. I noticed the umbrella slanted a little and I turned because of the sound of rain coming from behind. Louis was soaked a bit before he adjusted the umbrella.
His eyes were closed as water dripped from his face, I chuckled and began to wipe his face but had to stand on my toes to get to his forehead.
When Louis opened his eyes he smiled back and we stared at each other a little more than normal. I had to dart my eyes back to the road and we maintained silence until we reached my doorstep. It had an extension which shielded us from the rain so Louis closed the umbrella.
I stared at his wet shirt and began to think if I should give him back his jacket now, maybe I thought for too long because his expression looked like a smile and smug at the same time, my mouth parted as I knew Louis had the wrong idea of why I was staring.
I bowed my head and raised it almost immediately but he still had the same look which made my cheeks heat up a bit and he chuckled shortly.
The silence filled the atmosphere again, only the sound of the rain splashing around was heard and I felt the cool breeze on my face my eyes met with Louis' intense stare and it looked like he'd been looking for a long time, I found myself staring back at him trying to figure out the unreadable expression in his eyes.
I felt time freezing the second time and his eyes moved to my lips then I felt my heart pounding, his stare moved to my eyes and back to my lips as if he was trying to tell me something.
My inner self was panicking but still waiting for Louis, he leaned forward slowly parting his lips as he became very close, my eyes moved to our lips just an inch away making my heartbeat increase he leaned closer and we were going to kiss
"Achoo!" a tiny sneeze escaped my mouth making me sniff, when I looked at Louis he was already far away from my lips.
"Make sure you have a warm bath and take something hot before you go to bed" he smiled and I nodded with a weak smile.
My chest felt a strange heavyweight as I thought about why I had to sneeze at that time. A long horn interrupted my thoughts and we both looked at its direction.
"Oops, they found me" Louis chuckled and glanced at me one more time, I couldn't help but smile.
"Oh! Louis, your jacket" I half-yelled then he turned
"Keep it, you'd need it. You can return it tomorrow if you want" he waved with the cutest grin I've ever seen then I watched him walk outside to the car.
I sighed softly as I watched the car disappear into the rain. I was frozen for some minutes before I realized I was outside and entered the house for a warm bath and took hot tea after that.
I smiled sheepishly as scenes of what happened an hour ago played in my head. I flopped on my bed with his leather jacket clutched to my chest and my smile widened. I closed my eyes inhaling the sweet smell of Louis which made my heart flutter.
I pulled my blanket to my chest and cuddled his jacket
"Wait... what is wrong with me?" my eyebrows ceased
"...how did I end up like this?" I breathed heavily. I was busy thinking about him and I'm sure he was already asleep and didn't bother himself as I did.
Soon my phone rang and I grabbed it in half a second. I gasped with a smile as I saw the caller and was about to answer quickly then I paused.
"No... he'll think I've been waiting desperately for his call, let me wait for a little" I dropped my phone and began to stare at the white ceiling.
He called again and I allowed the phone to ring for sometime before picking
"Hello" I heard his charming voice and my heart fluttered
"Hi" I replied waiting anxiously for him
"I-I hope I didn't wake you up?"
"No, I was wide awake"
"Oh good, are you feeling better now?"
"Yeah... thanks"
He was quiet for sometime before he continued
"Uhmm... you should wear thick clothes and close your windows before sleeping"
"I will, thanks"
"Goodnight Fiona"
"Goodnight"
He hung up after that. I was so happy Louis called to check up on me. I hugged his jacket, holding it closer to my chest as I closed my eyes and wished I'd dream about something nice.
