My eyes widened, and I couldn't breathe. My head fell back, leaning against the wall.
"Jen, why?" I whisper.
"The doctor said you can see her if you'd like to." Said Shaun. The tone in his voice changed. From normal to heavy with sadness.

I nodded my head and whipped of the covers. As I slowly climb out of the bed, I notice that my limbs and the core if my body is shaking. I stand up completely and began walking. I run my hand along the wall, feeling the bumps and edges. As Shaun and I walk in the hall, I ask him "What about her arm?"
"He said they can't do anything about it. She's either going to have to quit the military, or learn how the fight with one arm." Said Shaun looking down.
"Why do you sound sad? If anything I'd should be crying like a little baby." I said, wondering why he seemed to care so much.
"Because she seemed like a good friend. I know it didn't look like it, but I considered her as more then an aquatintist. Also, I know she was your best friend. I can see you enjoyed being with her more then anyone, even Mariana." Said Shaun.
"I guess, but why are you speaking past tense?" I ask, getting worried that Jen might not wake up.
"I'm sorry, but me and you both know that most likely, Jen won't ever wake up again. And if she does, it would be to late to help her." Said Shaun, looking down.
"Shut up." I say quietly.
"What?"
"SHUT UP! YOU HAVE KNOW IDEA IF JEN WILL WAKE UP OR NOT! IF YOU CONSIDERED HER AS YOUR 'FRIEND' THEN YOU CAN AT LEAST HOPE FOR HER!" I yell. Shaun's face quickly changed, not expecting my out burst.

"But Lilly, why do you hope for something that won't happen?" Asked Shaun. His eyes relaxed and e seemed to get control of himself again.
"Why, you ask? Because I want to protect Jen as if she was my own life. If you can't understand that, then leave me alone." I say turning my back. Shaun didn't answer, and the hall became very silent.
"I see." I sighed. I walk away, and go into the room that says 'Jennifer Carsol'. As I walk in, I can hear loud noises form in the back of the room.

I look over and see Jen hooked up all different kinds of machines. Tubes crossed over each other and they injected some type of liquid in Jen's only arm. A mask was attached to Jen's face. I watched as steam appeared onto the mask, then disappeared. I looked over to a machine that showed her heart rate.
"At least she's breathing and has a heart beat." I say with relief. I walk over to the side if the bed and pull over a stool. I sit down and look at Jen's face.

Tear marks were made on her face. She must have been crying before she fell into the coma. Her pigtails where messed up, one lopsided and one almost out of the hair band. I thought of how Jen wouldn't care about how her hair looked, and even she would mess it up sometimes. I smiled and put down my head. As I watched Jen breathing, I began to fall asleep.

"Hey, Lilly. C'mon, we need to start training." Someone said, with a muffled voice. My eyes open slowly, and the first sight was Jen's mask steaming up from her breathing. I lift my head and look around to see who woke me up.
"We'er leaving in a few minuets. Lets go." I turn my head and see Mariana standing across from me, looking annoyed.
"Fine." I say with a horse voice. I get up and begin to walk to the door. As I do I turn my head and and look at Jen. I mouth the word 'bye', and continue to walk out the door.

As me and Mariana walk down the hall, I ask her "Are we going we going right out to train?"
"Depends if your going to spend time getting ready."
I look down and see that I'm still in my uniform from the previous day.
"Nah, I'll just stay in this until tonight." I say, laughing a little.
"I see your still discussing like you were when we were little." Mariana says shaking her head.
"Hey! Don't judge!" I laugh. She rolls her eyes, and we exit the medic center.

We continue to walk until we get to the training yard. I line up along with everyone else, and wait for the instructor. I look at the ground and begs in to think about random things. Like when Jen might wake up, what we'er going to be doing today, and other things.
Suddenly a women walks out of a building and stands in front of me and the other group of cadets.
"HELLO MAGETS! I KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE OUR TECHNOLOGY FOR KILLING TITANS, BUT TODAY THE CADETS FROM THE SOUTH WILL BE LEARNING HOW TO USE OUR BLADES!" Yelled the women.
"She must be the instructor." I say to myself quietly.
"THE FIRST THING YOU SOUTHERNERS WILL BE DOING, IS TO CLIMB THAT CLIFT, BUT USING YOUR HOOKS ON YOUR BLADES!" Yelled the instructor. I raised an eye brow and wondered what she meant.
