This can't be happening! I was beginning to panic. I looked over at Julia and Jen. Julia looked disappointed, and lowered her head. Jen looked back at me, she covered her mouth with her hands and was crying. My eyes were beginning to tear up, but I made myself stop and wiped my eyes on my shoulders. The Supreme Commander left the room and the soldiers behind us lifted the metal beams and took us back to our cells.
"Commander Julia will come to get you in a few minutes." The soldier said while closing the door. Sense I was cleared I was allowed to not have the cuffs on in the cells.
I sat against the wall and covered my face with my hands. I had nothing to say, nothing to think about, for all I can do at the moment is cry.
"Lilly! I'm so sorry!" I heard Jen yell as she got closer to the cell. I quickly wiped my eyes and calmed down. The soldier opened the door, and I walked out. Jen rushed up to me and grabbed my hands.
"I'm so sorry!!! I don't want you to die!" She squealed. I turned my head and looked at her face and tears were flowing from her eyes. I smiled and said "What are you talking about?" Her eyes widened and asked "What?"
"You were able to get me to be able to help repair the wall. And bring back some of the land we lost." I said, trying to cheer her up. She dropped her head and said "Yeah, but after that-" I cut her off.
"I have no idea what your talking about." I said to her, still smiling. She lifted her head and whispered "Why are you so positive?" I pull my hand away and turn my body to Jen.
Then Julia walks towards us and said "We need to go now." I walk past Jen and follow Julia through the halls. I turn around and see that Jen was not with us.
"Jen!" I yell. She then comes running from the corner and joins us.
"What were you doing?" I asked.
"Nothing." She sighed. We walked up the stairs and out of the building and into the carriage Julia had waiting for us. We sat in the carriage and Julia quickly handed me my Survey Corps jacket. I took it and thanked her, then put it on. The carriage then begins to move.
"So where are we going?" Jen asked.
"Back to the cave were you were given the injection. Dr. Starks explained there's a locked room in the back of the underground cave. It holds all their studies and information of the spies." Said Julia.
"Lilly your parents would like to see you tomorrow before their execution." Julia said.
"Okay." I replied while turning my head to the side and looked out the window.
"So you became the commander of the Scouts?" I asked, still looking out the window.
"Yes I will be upgraded to commander in two days. Jen will also be upgraded to captain." Said Julia. I turned my head towards Jen and she awkwardly scratched her head and smiled.
"Sorry, I was going to tell you but I forgot. Doesn't that mean I have to start choosing cadets for a squad?" Jen asked.
"Yes, one has already asked me to be in it."
"Who?" Jen asked.
"She was a captain but her squad was wiped out from a mission. If you remember her name was Meg." Said Julia while leaning back.
I could tell Jen was completely lost on remembering Meg.
"She was the cadet that was with us when we had to help collect bodies." I said. It took a few minutes before Jen can remember her.
"Oh, I know now. But why does she want to be on my squad?" Jen asked.
"She's a close friend of mine, she said she will keep a close eye on you." Smiled Julia. Jen and I chuckled, then it fell silent again.
"Then who will be the other four?" Julia asked.
"I dont know, I'd have to look at a list. But I know that Lilly will be the third." Sighed Jen.
"Thanks." I said.
"Well, in two days when I really become the commander, I will be able to get the list." Julia said closing her eyes and leaning on the back of the carriage. I lean my head in my hand and look out the window as the carriage begins moving.
About 15 minutes, I noticed that another carriage has been following us.
"There's someone following us." I whisper. Jen looked out the window on her side. Julia turns her head to look through my window.
"It's the MP." She started. "Sorry, I forgot to tell you. To prevent you running away, their going to be following us."
"What do you mean by 'run away'?" Jen Asked.
"My original plan was for Jen to seal the wall, then Lilly fix the contraption on top of the wall entrances. When all the Titan are killed inside Nishi District , Lilly will make a brake for it over the wall. And live in your Titan." Julia sighed. "But sense MP soldiers are following us, it won't be possible." She finished.
"I wouldn't have done it anyways." I admitted. Jen and Julia both whip their heads toward me, shocked.
"What?" Julia asked.
"I was born as a human, and I'm going to die as a human. I refuse to live as the thing that almost wiped us out." I argued.
"It doesn't matter what you think! Your my sister's closest friend, a real family member. Not like me. She wants you alive, so that's what's going to happen. Things have been dark in my sister's life. She lost her arm, became a Titan shifter and is carrying humanity on her shoulders!" Julia yelled.
"I've been feeling that way sense five years ago! Do you-" Julia raised her hand and pulled out a small hand gun. She pointed it at me, then lifted her head. My eyes widened, as I look at her face. She looked angry, but was crying.
"Jen's happiness is my top priority! Keep her happy. Don't die! Promise me that you won't die!" Julia yelled.
I looked over at Jen and she looked terrified by the gun. I looked back at Julia and lowered the gun. I looked her right in the eyes and said "I promise."
