Chapter 9 Titan Smoke

Why would my father have a Titan Ring? I wanted to see if how sharp the hook was, so I ran it along the cloth that was hanging near the sink. As I ran the hook along the clothe it made a tear in the fabric.

I stared at the hook and its point. Until I came back to reality and pushed the hook back into the ring. I slipped the ring on my left index finger and collected my uniform and opened the door. Suddenly Michelle fell as I opened the door.
"Sorry! I was just... um..." stuttered Michelle. I widened my eyes, scared to think that she heard my talk to myself about the ring.
"What did you hear?" I asked Michelle raised her shoulders and said "Nothing really, the door muttered any sound." I nodded my head once, thinking that she could be lying or telling the truth.

I stepped over Michelle and walked to a bed near the wall. I went to the dresser near the beds and opened the door and placed my uniform inside. There was tooth brush, and brush inside already.
"I'm going to the mess hall, are you coming?" I asked Michelle. I looked over my shoulder and saw that Michelle had a ear to ear smile on her face. She got up quickly and ran over next to me. I closed the dresser door and walked out the cabin with Michelle next to me.

We eventually got to the mess hall. I walked in and everyone became silent and looked at me.
"Awkward..." Michelle whispered. I rolled my eyes and found Mariana, Jen and Tom sitting in the far table in the corner. I walked down the isle, with Michelle as my shadow and everyone looking at me, I began getting very annoyed. I looked over and saw the food. I turned my direction and got a trey. I walked down and grabbed a bowl of soup, roll and a glass of water.

I walked to the table where my friends are sitting and sat down next to Jen. Michelle stood there, probably wondering if she should sit, or go to another table.
"You could sit here." Said Jen. Michelle had another big smile on her face, and sat down. It was silent at our table. The other cadets started talking again when I sat down. I broke the silents and told the group I met Michelle in the cabin I'm in. I also introduced Michelle to Mariana, Jen and Tom. They said hi, and it went back to silents again. Until Michelle broke it this time.
"I heard we'er beginning the MGs tomorrow!" Said Michelle. We looked at her to show we didn't really want to talk. Michelle looked down and began eating. The MGs was the Maneuvering Gear.

I expected that the soup would be disgusting, the roll stale and the milk raunchy. But actually it was all good. The soup, which I'm guessing was beef stew, was spicy and sweet. The bread was fresh and the milk was so cold, it felt like I swallowed ice. We finished our dinner and just sat there staring off into space.

Suddenly a bell began to ring. We looked up and saw that people were leaving. It was probably the cerfue bell, because the sun was already down and it was getting late. We got up through out our trash and left the dishes on the table. I was the last one of our group to leave. As I was walking out some one behind my grabbed my shoulder. I gasped and turned around quickly. It was the charming boy that I saw in the front of the line when I was getting the cabin key.
"Sorry to frighten you." Said the boy. His voice was calm, but not cold.
"It's fine." I replied.
"That's a beautiful necklace. And I'm sorry about your parents." Said the boy. My eyelids came down a little and a frown grew on my face. I began to rub the diamonds in the necklace and feel the edges on the chain.
"Thank you, it was my mother's." I replied, keeping on topic about the necklace and not my parents.
I stuck out my hand and said "My name is Lilly." The boy shook my hand and said "Shaun. And it's nice to meet you, Lilly." I smiled and we just stood there looking at each other.

"Lilly!" Yelled Jen.
"I got to go, but I'll see you tomorrow?" I said, leaving the mess hall. When I got outside Jen was waiting for me while Mariana and Tom stood there scowling at each other.
"Are they still mad at each other?" I whispered to Jen.
"Obviously." Jen whispered back. I rolled my eyes and looked over my shoulder. There stood Michelle waiting. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards us.
"Me and Michelle are going to the cabin. You guys get yours. Alright?" I asked. They nodded their heads and they left. Michelle and I turned around and began walking to our cabin.

"So, who was he?" Asked Michelle, like a little girl. I giggled and replied "He's just someone I met, nothing special."
"Sure." Laughed Michelle.
"It is! All he did was compliment on my necklace and apologized for my parents. Like I said nothing special." I said getting annoyed.

We finally got to our cabin and walked in to see everything the way we left it. Michelle went to her bed and fell asleep instantly. I locked the door and went into my bed. I stared at the sealing. Suddenly someone opened the door and I looked up to see Jen and Mariana walking in. Jen mouthed 'sorry' and they walked around. I put my head back down and closed my eyes.

"WAKE UP! YOUR FIRST DAY OF TRAINING BEGINS! GO INTO THE MESS HALL AND EAT, THEN LINE UP AND WAIT TILL THEN!" Yelled Battlow. I opened my eyes and saw the sun peering through our window. I sat up and found Mariana gone, and Jen and Michelle sleeping. I put my uniform on and fixed my ponytail. I brushed and washed my face. I grabbed my key and stuck it in my pants pocket. I opened the door and yelled "I'LL MEET YOU THERE!" I looked back and found Jen open her eyes then get up. I closed the door and began walking. No one else was out and it seemed that no one was up.

I got to the mess hall and ate a few apples. There were a couple of people there but they didn't pay attention to much. When I finished I went to where I stood yesterday. I year drops have evaporated but my foot prints are still there. I looked at the ring and opened the hook. I closed it looked up. "I need to talk to Dr. Jeager." I whispered to myself. I found Battlow standing at the main building looking at papers. I walked up to him and did the solute.
"Sargent Battlow! May I go see Captain Jeager?!" I looked at him and he seemed tired.
"Soldier! Take this cadet to Jeager!" Battlow yelled at another cadet. The cadet nodded his head and looked at me. I looked back and he left. I followed the cadet as he takes me down flights of stairs. Finally we get to a door and the cadet says "Her 'office' is there." I nodded and he left.

I knocked on the door, and I heard crashes in the room.
"It's open!" Jeager yelled. I opened the door and saw notes every where. On tables, walls. I walked in and found Jeager sitting in a chair facing the other way.
"What do you want?" Jeager said, sounding annoyed.
"I need to talk to you." I said as I looked around. Jeager lifted up her head and turned around quickly.
"Oh! It's you! What do you need." Asked Jeager. I looked around her 'office' and completely ignored her question.
"What is all of this?" I said looking around. There were pictures of the colossus Titan, armored Titan, female Titan, Eren's Titan and me.

"This is all the transformation Titans!" Said Jeager.
"Why am I on the wall?" I asked. Jeager laughed and said "Lilly, did you forget already?!" I shook my head and sighed. I took off my father's ring and hit the switch, making the hook come out. I handed it to her and said "This was in my father's ring. And I'm making sure it's not a..." Jeager gasped interrupting what I was trying to say and said "This is a Titan ring!" My heart sank, as I heard Jeager say that.
"Give me your arm!" Commanded Jeager. I hesitated, thinking that she was going to cut me, but I gave her my arm anyway. She slid my sleeves up, exposing my skin. She ran the hook along my arm with some force, enough of it to open skin. I tightened my fist and grinded my teeth together from the pain. I looked at the gash on my arm when Jeager was done. Suddenly smoke was coming out. I watched it float up to the sealing. Then the smoke covered the whole room. I could barley see anything.
"It's hot!" I said while coughing. I heard Jeager make a crazy laugh as she squeezed my wrist.
"It's Titan smoke!!"
