'Jen, I'm sorry that I couldn't physically say goodbye. But I want you to know that I won't just disappear and never come back. Eventually I will come back home with good news for humanity. Until the time being, I hope everything will be fine. See you soon.
-Lilly'

"I'm starting to think that you really did just disappear." I sighed.
"What was that captain?" Suzy asked.
"Hm? Oh, it was nothing."
"Your still waiting for this person aren't you?" I take a sip from my tea and tighten my grip on the letter. I didn't answer, I no longer know if I'm really waiting for her or not. It's been twenty years sense I last saw my friend. I've gotten new squads every few years due to changing regiments, retiring or simply dying. I guess that's how it works now. I watched Suzy sweep through the room, then picked up the cup from the long table.

"Anyway have you gotten anything for our next mission outside?" I asked Suzy. She's the longest cadet that has stayed with me for a good ten years.
"Commander Julia hasn't sent any kind of message to us. Why are you so anxious about getting outside the walls? Isn't that the most dangerous place to be?" Suzy asked.
"In ways it can be, but you get more freedom out there then you do inside the walls." I replied. I begin swinging the cup around making the tea to swirl in a circle.

"Captain Jennifer!" Someone yelled. I turned around and saw a young man painting in the door way.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A person is saying she came in from outside the walls and that she knows you. What do you want us to do?" The young man asked. My eyes widened and I dropped the small cup, making glass shatter and tea spill on the table and floor.
"What room?!" I asked.
"Front." I quickly got up from the chair and ran out of the room.
"Captain!" Suzy yelled.

I ran down the halls, and clutched onto the letter in my hand. Can it really be her? I then stopped dead in the doorway. I adjusted my glasses back into place, and stared at the girl sitting in a chair. Her hair was down, and moved onto the right shoulder. I saw a small silver chain shin from the sunlight coming in through the window. The girl turned her head to face me, and I felt tears fall down my face.
"I'm sorry Jen, I couldn't find anyone." The girl said. Her voice was full of worry, but I didn't care.
"That doesn't matter Lilly. Your finally home."
