Chapter 39 Broken World

"What do you mean by 'treason'?" Jen yelled.
"It has been illegal for someone to possess the powers to turn into a Titan. If someone does have that ability they will be charged for treason and will be killed." Said the man. My eyes widened. I won't even have a chance to get out of this from court?

I could tell Jen got angry, she tightened her fists and grinder her teeth.
"I have the..."
"Jen!! Shut up! Stay out of this!" I yelled. Jen tried to say she has the power as well, and that she should be charged with treason. I won't let her have the same fate as I will.
"Take them in the carriage and make sure nothing happens!" Yelled the man. Soldiers begin pushing my parents and I into the carriage, the one pushing me gets in with us and sits next to me.
"Wait Lilly!" I hear Jen yell. They close the door, and the carriage begins to move.
"If I may ask, where are we going?" My mother asked.
"You will be taken to Trost district to face your punishment." Said the soldier, with no emotion.

Sense we are far in the south of Shiganshina, it would take a long time to get to Trost. I slid down the chair a little to get more comfortable and closed my eyes.
"What do you think your doing?" Asked the soldier, as if what I did was unexceptional.
"It's going to take a long time to get there, and I'm going to die anyways, my as well relax." I sighed. He grunted and excepted my actions.

Nine hours has passed, we've made it in Trost.
"Get out." Barked the soldier. We followed the instructions and got out of the carriage.
"Lilly!" Someone yells. I turn my head and see Jen and Julia walking towards us when soldiers stop them and keep them at bay.
"Keep moving!" Said the cadet behind me pushing with his rifle. I roll my eyes and start walking. As I walk up the stairs I look up at the building. What is this?

When we are inside, soldiers immediately take us to the basement. They throw us in separate cells. Starting with my father, mother then me.
"Sit." Said the soldier. I sit down on the bed and they take of my handcuffs. I sigh, thinking that I won't have to wear them.
"Keep your hands still." He said as he grabbed handcuffs attached to a long chain. He puts them on and I regret thinking I can get away without having them. He walked out of the cell and locked the door behind him.

I sigh and cross my legs as I sit. I put my hands in my lap and have my head fall forward.
"So is this the cell Eren Jeager was held in?" I asked in a bored tone.
"I don't know."
"How long am I going to be held up in here?"
"I don't know, just shut up." Sighed the cadet.
"Well you cheerful, do you mind if I go to sleep?" I asked.
"I don't care."

I sighed, then leaned back on the bed and unfolded my legs. I stared up at the ceiling and I can feel that I was beginning to panic. My heart was also begging to race.

Am I really going to die today or in the next few days? I don't want to die yet. It's not my fault I became a shifter, did I hurt anyone?

I lift up my hand and brought to my face. Am I really what they say I am? A monster?!

I put my arm back down, and my eyes begin to tear up. I can't die! What about Michelle? What about all those people who died when my father breached the outer wall? I said I would make sure that their lives weren't in vain! Has it all been for nothing?!

"Lilly! Plan's been changed." I wipe my eyes and sit up to see Jen and Julia.
"What do you mean." I asked, while sniffling my nose.
"Julia was able to convince the MP to let you and your parents testify in court. There's still a chance to get out of this!" Smiled Jen. I smiled back and say "How long until then?"
"Three days for the Supreme Commander to come. Our plan is to keep you in the Survey Corps and work with us to help seal up the wall. And kill the remaining Titans inside the walls. Also we need help with fixing a machine that's been installed and used many years ago. It kills Titans by dropping a heavy lever on top of the neck." Julia explains.
