Marco's pov
I don't mind Luke having time with his friends at all. I feel happy when he gives himself some fun. However, I don't know why I am JEALOUS of him spending time with Jaden. I noticed that Malik too feels this way.
Jaden for Luke isn't like the others. He is his friend, his comforter, his consulter, his protector. In short, he is like a brother figure for him. I understand that too when Malik was overwhelmed to face him with the fact that he is his brother and when I had no idea about it, Jaden was there assuring to teach him everything and to protect him.
We both got closer to Luke when Jaden wasn't around. We filled that place little by little and made him turn to us when he was in trouble... I'm kinda scared of losing that with Jaden's presence.
I'm happy for Luke having Jaden back, I'm happy for having him back too and I bet also Malik but seeing Luke being so close to Jaden can catch fire inside me.
I could not help it but show my displeasure with Luke spending a couple of days at the warehouse but I didn't mean to trap him in the guilt trap.
We should give him space with his friends. I feel like a baby right now, I shouldn't have reacted like this. Look at his confusion... Oh, poor boy!
We are Carnells just jealous heads! That's bad!
Jaden is a great man. I like him too and what I love the most is Luke's wide smile so I won't ruin this for him. Let him go!
I still remember Luke's first day as my assistant. It was a bad day for Luke because I let all my anger on him and spat fire on his face. I didn't mean it, but I was so furious at that time.
Flashback
Malik was in the UK. Pedro got me the files and the analysis of all the new boys that we recruited a month ago. I was checking the papers and Pedro classifying them on the laptop with all their information. We do that to provide protection for them and for us, like checking their blood category and classifying them together so we can find a blood donor from the same category easily.
My eyes fell on Luke's file. I know this kid, he is just 17 and I accepted him to not let him lose himself in the streets and I won't forget his amazing performance in fighting, how intelligent he is and how he insisted on joining us. I won't ever let him join any of the missions till he becomes 18 and aware of the dangerousness he will face in this path. I will make him my assistant till that time. I opened his file and what I found was just some paper about his schooling record, his adoptive parents names and stuff like that.
" His file is missing some papers." I told Pedro
" They can be lost somewhere, sir."
I waved it off and I took the analysis.
" He is B-, add him to the category with Malik."
Then suddenly it hit me... Malik!
His words started spinning in my head," I can't believe you, how can you accept a kid into this! This will be a mess! Marco, think about it again."
His shock when he read the papers, his quick no and asking Luke to help him to carry on his studies instead. If I know my brother so well then he is hiding the rest of the papers so no one can know what is in my head.
" Pedro, take this key, Malik's office in the second warehouse, I'll put the password from here. I want you to send me files from the top secret Unit."
" Yes sir."
And shortly I got all the files on my laptop. I started going through them one by one till I found what I needed in Luke's file and in there was a file of Luke's adoption, his family, his real parents' name and his brother. Nicolas Stark!
