Destiny's pov
I was in my room drawing. I was trying to capture the beauty of the sunset. I had been looking out the window, admiring the vibrant oranges and pinks yesterday, and wanted to recreate the scene on paper. I had finally found the most suitable color palette and was ready to start. I began to sketch out the clouds, the sun, and the horizon line.
As I drew, I felt a deep sense of peace and joy wash over me. I was captivated by the beauty of nature and the power of art.
I had been working on this piece for hours when I heard a knock on the door.I got up and opened it, to find my sister standing there with a smile. She said, " I'm here to give you a hug, because I know you need one."
" I always need one!" I hugged her content
We stood in that hug for an eternity. We both needed it. I was grateful for the reminder that I was not alone in this world.
" So what was my adorable sister doing?" She asked as she got in
" I was drawing. See." I showed her my wet hands.
She laughed and side-hugged me. " You're always up to something, aren't you?"
I smiled and looked away, feeling embarrassed by her comment. I still felt her arms around me, a comforting embrace that made me feel safe and secure. It was a moment I wanted to last forever.
" So carry on, I'll stay with you."
" Okay."
She sat on my bed checking her email box as I kept on with my painting. Suddenly, she looked up and smiled.
She said, " Wow, that looks amazing! You're really becoming quite an artist!"
I blushed. I was proud of myself for creating the piece and felt bolstered by her appreciation.
" Desty, let's get out."
" Sure!" I beamed and quickly gathered my things. " Where are we going?"
" Let's have some fun. Wear something elegant and comfy." she said
" Okay!" I nodded
I headed to my closet and picked out a soft velvet dress and some comfy ballet flats. I put on a bit of makeup and felt ready to leave. My sister was waiting for me in the car, so I got in and said, " Well, let's hit the sky!"
She laughed and drove ahead.
We first decided to go bowling, as we had done many times when we were kids. We drove to the bowling alley and spent the next few hours playing. We laughed and cheered each other on as we tried to hit the pins. We then went to the mall and browsed the stores. We checked out the latest trends and tried on clothes, laughing at the silliest things. After that, we decided to do some shopping, buying a few things for ourselves and our family.
" What do you think of this?" I asked, holding up a dress.
" It looks really nice," she replied.
" Do you think it would look good on me?"
" Definitely, It'll make you look great."
" Thanks," I said, putting it back on the rack. "What about this one?"
" It's very pretty," she said. " But maybe it's a bit too formal for everyday wear. You're still young for that."
" That's true," I said. " What do you think about this one?"
" That one looks perfect," she said. " It's casual and stylish."
" Thanks," I said with a smile. " I think I'll get it."
