'Kuttttuuuuu!!!' she hugged me so tightly that I couldn't get off her hold. My mother was one strong lady. Both physically and mentally.

'Mom please!!! Call me anything but that Kuttu Puttu please!!! I'm 30...' saying I tried to get off her hold she scowled and said

'You may even be a granny someday and I will still call you Kuttu infront of your grandchildren!!!' she said pulling my cheek and I rolled my eyes and screamed 'Ammmmmaaaaa!!!' only for my baby gorilla sister to scream lovely

'Luvvvvvvv!!!' and without even looking around she practically jumps upon me and I'm thrown backwards as I fall onto the couch in our living room.

'Shikhaaaaa!!! Ughhhh!!! Atleast someday try to pretend like you're a human! You're a professor in a reputed college for god's sake. Your students will run away if they see you behaving like this!!!' I said but she hugged me tighter saying

'Nooooo ways!!! My Luv is coming back home after three big months. I'm not letting her go away!!!' and I chuckled and hugged her too but then quickly whispering

'But I'm leaving on Monday morning!!! 7 am flight...zoom... back to work!' and she pushed me away. Her face turned serious and she asked me with a serious tone.

'You just came for 2 days Luv? You know dad is-' but Mom interrupted her. She was pissed that I wasn't here when dad wasn't keeping well. She simply walked away from there and my guilt ate me up again. I felt my mother's hands squeezing my shoulders giving me a warm massage saying

'You know Shikha na Kuttu... she's upset that you couldn't come...dad was asking for you!' she said and my eyes went moist.

'You don't need to explain Kuttu! We know!!!' she said as her fingers continued massaging my shoulders. I turned around and hugged her stomach. She smiled and caressed my head saying

'Ewwww what are these...your hair looks so dull... doesn't that Shravya apply oil to your head?' and I rolled my eyes saying

'Mom she's my assistant not my maid!!!'

'Doesnt matter! At least she's your friend na...can't she see the grass her friend is cultivating on her head? How many chemicals do you kids apply? Come...let me apply hot coconut oil to your head, then have your favourite Kadale-Puttu. I will ask our house-help to organize a warm bubble bath for you. You need to relax!!!' she said and I smiled saying 'Before that I wanna see dad!!!' and she rolled her eyes saying

'Then quit your sleep!!! Mister Khanna has gone to office!!!' and she huffed. I chuckled.

I noticed dad was busy on his business call when I looked at him from outside the glass door of his cabin. He lost some weight but he was still the same energetic man. I missed him so much. Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and a familiar voice said

'I don't like to see pretty girls crying! You cannot do that to me girlfriend!!!' and I turned around to see Neiv uncle standing there. My eyes were still moist when he clicked his tongue saying

'Oh my god!!! Come here you big girl!!!' saying he hugged me warm. I needed that hug badly.

'My best friend and your father...the great Mister Vansh Rony Khanna is doing very very well. Aahir has also checked upon him and confirmed there are no blocks that cannot be cleared with medicines. So stop shedding those tears darling. He is fine!!!' he said and I smiled through my tears and nodded.

He patted my head and I wiped my tears. We walked into dad's cabin only for him to be pleasantly surprised as his eyes automatically went moist and he hugged me tightly. I tried but couldn't stop crying.
