I Miss

POV Gina

I'm at Jack's house again. We've been hanging out almost everyday. I still think it's so cool I actually go to the same as my airport-best-friend.

"Do you want something to drink?" Jack yells from the kitchen. "Yeah, juice or something, please," I yell back from the couch in the living room.

A few seconds later, Jack walks into the living room with two glasses of juice and a bowl of chips. I've already put High School Musical 2 on the television.

"Again?! Are you obsessed with this movie or something," Jack laughs. "Yeah, kinda," I answer chuckling. The movie starts.

"Do you miss Salt Lake?" Jack asks all of the sudden. "Yeah," I say after a moment. "But it's great to be here with you."

I really do miss Salt Lake.

I miss the theater lessons.

I miss Miss Jenn.

I miss the sweet Nini.

I miss my two best friends, Kourtney and Ashlyn

I miss my couple goals, Seb and Carlos

I miss Big Red and Ricky

I miss the feeling of producing a musical with everyone.

And I miss EJ.

I miss EJ so bad. I wish he was here with me. I wonder how he is doing. Does he have a girlfriend? Would he move on that fast?

I notice Jack's staring at me. He smiles. "You were completely zoned out, you okay?" he asks.

"Yeah, I guess," I smile. The song What Time Is It ends and I return my attention to the movie.

My phone rings. For a second I hope that it is EJ. I look at my phone. Ashlyn.

"Hi Ash, is it important cuz I'm kind of busy," I say. I don't hear a response. "Ash?" I ask again.

"Gina, something happened," I hear Ashlyn say. Her voice doesn't sound as alive as it normally does.

"What-," I start. "What happened?"

"Seb's-" she says but then she starts to cry. It's heartbreaking to hear her like this.

POV EJ

I'm sitting at one of the tables in the small cafe in the street where I live now. The waitress is a moody old lady. I'm pretty sure she hates me.

I ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream but she gave me it without whipped cream.

That's a brutal crime.

My laptop is in front of me and I'm watching High School Musical. I was supposed to work on a project which I need to hand in tomorrow but I guess I'll finish that tonight.

The movie makes me think back to East High. To the theater room. To Gina.

I wonder how everyone is doing. Are Ricky and Nini back together again? I really think that they are a great couple. What about Ashlyn and Big Red? They should be together again right?

How are Carlos and Seb doing? I bet they are still together. Nobody could break them apart.

I haven't talked to any of them in a long time. Should I call them? Nah, they're probably too busy with the musical.

The door of the café opens and Claire walks in. I wave at her and she walks to my table with a big smile.

"So, how are you doing?" she asks. "I'm fine, I'm watching High School Musical, you want an earpiece?" I ask.

"Did you finish your project?" she asks. "Maybe," I state and Claire chuckles.

Claire closes my laptop and grabs her project-paper out of her bag. "Here, use mine to see what you miss," she says and smiles.

"Claire," I start. "You're the best."

"I know."
