Hey guys, here is a minor update. Wow, number 2 in the world a few days ago. I can't thank you guys enough. Number 5 now, either way, so thankful for you all. Sorry, I know I've been inactive, but I've got some openings in the schedule coming up. Senior year has been kicking my butt, but I got into college. Anyways, thank you, and enjoy.
"I hoped I'd never see your shitty face again in my lifetime," Michonne says while a firm grip hurls me from my spot. Hershel whips out his gun but not fast enough. Slipping it back into his one holster, he cooperates. Slowing turn, I see the fast of someone we thought to be dead long ago.
The Governor.
He's got two other people with him, a girl on the heavier side and a black guy with dreads. No one utters a word; I don't even have the strength to fight back. And Hershel, with only one leg, we wouldn't stand a chance even with Michonne; who knows if he has more waiting.
We are brought back to a trailer in the middle of a clearing, not too far from the prison but far enough that we cannot be seen. We're all sat at the table inside of it. Michonne snipped at the governor to stop touching her.
"You should eat. It's gonna be a long day." He pulls out a sack of meat.
"Nobody's gonna hurt you."
"I don't believe that." Hershel breathes heavily while eyeing me.
"Well, I don't care."
"Tell us what this is about. Do you want the prison? More guns?" I pipe up.
"It's nothing personal, Doll." The governor responded, touching my face.
"Then what is it?" Hershel pushes.
"Michonne, I want you to know.." He ignores our pending questions, " Penny, My daughter, she was dead. I know that now. Now, I don't want to hurt you." He bends over, rummaging through a crate. "I don't want to hurt anyone. I need the prison, that's it." He looks at me.
Taking a deep breath in, I blow out, biting my tongue.
"There are people I need to keep alive. You three are going to help me take it." He glances over us slowly. "You each have a serious relationship with someone there, someone who needs you. You're my asset."
Carl, Daryl, and Rick flash through my mind. I deeply cared for each one and needed to protect them, yet I'm sitting here.
"Now, no one needs to die." He clarifies.
"You can't promise that no one will?" I say in a low tone.
"I'm gonna kill you." Michonne states. Hershel and I are looking at her, not helping the situation here.
"You want the prison?"
"Yes. And I will take it as peacefully as I can." The governor said.
"Your people, our people, we can find another way to live. Let's split the cell blocks. You've changed, and so has Rick." Hershel explains.
"The two of us will never be able to live together. Michonne and I will never be able to live together. Jade and I will never be able to live together after what I had my men do." I harden hearing him say that.
"We can find a way."
"I FOUND a way!" He booms. I'm trying hard. There are different kinds of ways I could do this. This way, you get to live, and I get to be.." He doesn't finish. He stands up and walks out.
"You said you wanted to take this prison as peacefully as possible?" I speak up. "But that means you are willing to hurt people if it comes to it, right?" I say before he leaves. His hand on the door handle stops.
