"Mum!" Harvey shouted the second we stepped through the door to the house.
Dad quickly shut the door and locked it, shutting out the paparazzi that were super excited about the victims of a kidnapping having returned home.
"Why are the news saying that Daniel has been found?!" Harvey's voice boomed through the house, and I heard footsteps running on the floorboards upstairs.
I looked at Daniel who listened for the voice, waiting for Harvey to make an appearance.
He probably couldn't recognise the voice, so he probably didn't know that it was his twin brother on his way downstairs.
I saw Harvey's light head of hair as he rushed down the stairs, then came to a halt at the bottom step.
His eyes first landed on me, and before I could process anything, he had picked me off the ground, spinning me around.
"I thought you'd died you bitch." He laughed with pure joy.
"Harvey, put her down. She's got a concussion." Fred spoke, and Harvey quickly put me down, his eyes now wide.
"Shit. I'm so sorry." Then he turned and pulled Reuben and Eliza into hugs at the same time.
Spencer was already inside the house somewhere.
Harvey turned one last time, halting when his eyes landed on Daniel. His smile dropped and he took a step back.
"Shit." He inhaled sharply, taking a hand through his hair, then rested his hands on his hips.
Daniel stared right back, obviously unsure of what to do.
"You're alive." Harvey muttered, running one of his hands over his face. "You're a fucking adult. Shit."
"Well, considering we were born minutes apart and you're an adult... yeah." Daniel nodded slowly.
Then before I could blink, the two were hugging, and Harvey was crying but trying to hide it.
I looked at Fred and gestured towards the living room, so he followed me in there, holding Dora on his arm.
"I figured they'd want a moment." I said as I fell onto one of the sofas.
Fred sat next to me, leaving a little space for Dora as he placed her between us.
"And you?" He asked, resting his elbow on the back of the sofa, his head leaning in his hand.
I turned my head to look at him, and our eyes met. Between us, Dora was babbling and Fred let her have his other hand to keep her occupied on something.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You just went through a traumatic experience, Mavis. I wouldn't blame you if you'd want to spend a moment without your entire family looking at you."
I cleared my throat and shrugged, straightening up.
"It wasn't a traumatic experience." I said. "I'm fine."
"Mavis..."
"I'm fine."
Phoebe came running into the living room, and I smiled widely at her.
"Hi baby. What've you got there?" I asked, gesturing to the book in her hand.
"Gramps gave it to me." She said while taking a seat next to me.
I took a look at the book, and my face drained from colour.
"Gramps gave it to you?" I asked, recognising the book from being one of the books in that room Eric had assigned to me and Phoebe.
