There was honestly nothing better than jumping in the pool on a hot day.
As soon as I hit the water, I could hear Max groan and complain as the water splashed on him.
When I got back to the surface, I laughed, running my hands over my hai.
I looked at him as he sat in one of the lounge chairs.
"Why are you so grumpy today?" I asked, sliding back to float on my back.
"Flynn and I had a date, but he got called to work for an emergency." He said and rolled his eyes. "That's what you get for dating a fucking healer."
I laughed, looking at the blue sky.
"Well, you get to spend your day with me, so cheer up pretty boy."
Max stood up, and I looked at him as he pulled his shirt over his head, throwing it on the lounge chair.
I grinned, knowing I had won him over. After he got rid of his jeans, he stepped up to the edge, narrowing his eyes at me.
"What?" I asked. "Jump in for fuck sake."
I splashed water at him, causing him to flinch.
"That's cold!"
I laughed, but that laughter quickly died when he jumped in, coming right for me. I screamed, going underwater so it wouldn't hurt when he hit me.
But he never hit me.
Instead, he managed to wrap his arms around me, pulling me with him to the bottom of the pool.
When we got back up to the surface, he was still holding me, and I screamed when he threw me back into the water.
I swim away from him and towards the other end of the pool before getting up to the surface again, hearing Max laugh.
I ran my hands over my face and over my hair and when I turned towards him, he was leaning back against the edge of the pool.
Then I swam back to where he was, shaking my head.
"You're an arsehole."
"Oh I know I am." He grinned, tilting his head, and I saw the hickey on his neck.
"Oh c'mon." I groaned. "Don't walk around flashing that at me."
"What?" He laughed, clasping a hand against the side of his neck. "Oh shut up. And stop being fucking jealous. I really love your brother."
I gagged.
"Aren't there anyone you like? Like not one single person?" Max asked as I floated on my back again.
"Nope."
"Seriously? Not one?"
"No."
Max snorted. "Yeah. For some reason I don't believe that."
