I dropped out of auror training with the excuse of my pregnancy, and the possibility to return once I was ready sometime after giving birth.
I spent the early mornings with Fred in bed. We didn't go one night without staying together. I knew he wanted to be as close as possible throughout the entire pregnancy, and now that everyone knew, no one would question his need to constantly be around.
He told his brother and the rest of his family, and he told me they were shocked but happy to welcome a baby to the family.
My family supported me as well, but they were also nervous because of my age and my diabetes. Fred's family looked at it differently. Fred was twenty-two and had a great age to have his first child, but to my family, I was a teenager becoming a parent.
My parents had been through it and they knew how hard it was, but they still supported me.
Fred usually went to work around nine-thirty and that left me with an empty house. Well, mostly.
My parents had their jobs. Mum worked from home most of the time, working on her current book which is about her experience of raising ten children at her young age of thirty-nine, most of her children being boys.
I usually spent the day in my room, trying to pass time until someone else got off work.
Ronan was at the ministry where he worked, Harvey was behind his desk at Gringotts, August was working at dads firm in Diagon Alley, Flynn was working at St. Mungo's and Reuben was teaching apparition at Hogwarts.
Max didn't have a job, but he was with his sister, probably helping her out and trying to convince her to hire him.
Ronan was usually the first one to get off work, so when I heard the cat drive up to the house, I hurried off the bed and ran downstairs.
I had been so bored all day. I had bothered mum a few times in her office, but other than that, I spent time alone.
"Ronan!" I exclaimed the second he stepped through the door in the afternoon on November sixteenth.
I was in my second trimester. Fourteen weeks pregnant and starting to feel fat when I wore my jeans, but I wasn't really showing.
"What's up?" Ronan shot me a smile as he ruffled his hair to get snow out of it.
It had been snowing a lot in the past couple of days, which is odd because we're in Taunton and it's November.
It shouldn't start snowing until the end of the month.
"Did you speak to your boss?" I asked, chewing nervously on my lip.
"Bill? Yeah, I did." He nodded, a secretive smile on his lips.
He moved past me, and I frowned, following him to the kitchen.
"Well? What did he say?"
"Oh, he said a lot of things." Ronan sighed. "It's weird how much he and Fred looks like each other. Not just their faces, but their body language too."
"Ronan!" I groaned. "Am I your new assistant or do I have to keep looking for a job?"
A soft chuckle slipped past my brother's lips. He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and then turned towards me
"Yes. I am allowed to pick myself an assistant, so you're hired." He said and held up a hand to shut me up when I almost freaked out. "But... tomorrow, you come with me to work and you and Bill have a conversation. He wants to meet you before being the one to take you on as his responsibility. You're my assistant, and you work for me, but he's the one in charge of your paychecks."
