One of my hamsters died during the night.

She was the one that was the much attached to me and now she's gone. I buried her but I can't get myself to clear out her cage.

-

I couldn't get rid of any of the babies.

Even though it was unexpected and definitely scary, Fred and I decided to keep all four babies.

Four fucking babies.

Four miniature human beings.

And right now while watching Phoebe run around, high on sugar, Theodora harassing Callum, and Callum crying his eyes out, I'm starting to realise how this house will be so much more chaotic.

"Phoebe, darling!" Fred called out while I held my head in my hands, staring at all of the chaos. "Go to the garden and jump on your trampoline, alright?"

Phoebe shrieked as she sprinted towards the door in the kitchen that let out to the deck where the stairs to the garden were located.

Fred picked Theodora up with one arm and she started shrieking with laughter as she swung while he walked.

"You okay, love?" Fred's eyes fell on me. "You look stressed."

"I—" I gulped, shaking my head. "...it's chaos. Everything is chaos and we're supposed to have another four?"

A small smile curled at the corner of his lip while he walked over and placed Theodora down in an armchair.

Then he crouched down and held her wrists while she tried to get off and back to bullying her baby brother.

"Theodora. No." Fred shook his head. "Callum doesn't find it funny when you steal his toys. He doesn't like it and you have to respect that."

Theodora stared at him as her bottom lip quivered.

"Hey, I'm not mad." Fred told her as he pulled her into a hug. "Daddy's not mad at you, darling."

Dora started crying, wrapping her arms around Fred's neck.

"Mama." She cried, looking towards me.

"You want mama? Let's get you to mama." Fred stood up, carrying her, and I held out my arms, taking her into my embrace.

"We're not mad at you, baby." I confirmed, hugging her tightly while she cried against my neck. "But we have to respect other people, yeah?"

I rubbed her back as I comforted her, feeling her nod at my question.

"So that means when Callum doesn't want you to take his toys, you have to respect that and go play with your own toys, okay?"

"Okay." She said quietly, hiding her face which she always did whenever she was caught doing something she wasn't allowed to.

"But no one is upset with you, Dora. Mama and daddy love you very much."

At that, she pulled away and rubbed her eyes before looking at me. "I love you." She said slowly, a small smile spreading across her face when she saw my face light up.

"I love you."

"I looove you." She sang, playing with the earring on my left ear.

I laughed softly.

"Mama loves you." I told her. "And daddy loves you. Phoebe loves you, and Callum loves you... even when you steal his toys."

She giggled before guiding her thumb into her mouth.

"Do you want to go spend some time with Phoebes on the trampoline?" I asked, but she shook her head. "No? You want to stay here with mama?"

When she nodded, I smiled and pulled her in closer, allowing her to cuddle up to me.
