"Hey Melody! What took you so long?" my mom asked.
"Oh, sorry! I must've lost track of the time. I was just outside practicing some jumps with Beauty. I'm getting really good at it," I said.
"That's great, sweetie! Glad to hear that you're getting better!"
I smiled.
"Thank you! Oh and mom? Do you think I could go back to the stable to feed Beauty really quick?"
Please say yes, please say yes.
"Okay, Melody," she said. "Just make sure to come in time for lunch!"
"Will do!"
With that, I went outside to look for Beauty. I wondered what she had to tell me. When I reached the stables, I saw Beauty looking at me in her horse form through her stall.
"Okay, Beauty. Can you change into human form so you can tell me what you wanted to say earlier?"
And maybe also to make sure that I'm not going crazy ahaha-
She neighed in agreement. She closed her eyes and I heard the cracking of bones.
I cringed, wondering if that was painful for Beauty. After a few seconds, I saw her in human form.
We were silent for a moment until she smiled and said, "Hey Melody! My real name is Alexandra but you can just call me Alex. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner. I wanted to wait at least a year because I needed to make sure you and your mom were good people before revealing my secret."
I frowned.
"Good people? What do you mean by that, Alex?"
She sighed.
"There are bad people out there who seek to capture all natural-born horse shifters and use their power to create an alternate world... one where evil will rule over all. I don't really understand it all myself but that's why my parents have always told me to be careful with my shifter abilities. They can be used for good but if they fall into the wrong hands, chaos can occur."
"Oh wow, I had no idea. Don't worry, Alex! I'll make sure no one takes you from us. My mom and I will do everything we can to protect you."
"Aww, thank you so much Melody. That means a lot to me, she said with a smile.
I hugged her and she hugged me back as well.
We stayed like that for a few minutes when I said nervously, "Not sure if right now's a good time to ask but... do you think you can turn me into a horse shifter? I love horses and I've always wanted to see the world from their perspective. Do you think that'd be okay with you?"
"Of course I can!" she said happily.
"Remember, though, this is a secret that shouldn't be told to anyone," she said with a serious look on her face.
"Don't worry, this secret is safe with me," I said reassuringly.
"This is how it works," she said. "First, you picture the person you want to be a horseshifter as a horse based on their hair color. Then, you touch them." She touched my arm softly.
I felt a tingling feeling all over my body. It felt strange and nothing like I had ever experienced before.
Alex seemed to know what was happening because she said, "Don't worry, that's a sign that you'll be able to shift in a couple of days."
Oh my god, she is going to officially be a horseshifter! I hope you guys like what I did and get ready for some more interesting things coming. Please tell me if you like this so far. It would be really appreciated. By the way, I have to give credit to Skaya M, author of "The Life of a Horse" series. That's where I got info about horse shifters and their transformation effects. Make sure to check out her books as well! Well, I have to go now. Tomorrow, I will have lots of really good chapters. Goodnight my dear readers! :)
