I was playing around, teasing Beauty/Alex when all of a sudden, my mom stepped out of the house.
"Mel? Beauty?" she asked, with a worried look on her face.
"Mom, I can explain-" I started, worried of what would happen to me.
"Melody, I thought I'd never find you!" she said, wrapping me in a warm embrace.
When she let go of me she said, "You have a lot of explaining to do, young lady. All your friends are worried about you! They said they haven't seen you since middle block. What happened?"
I took a deep breath and explained everything that had happened. When I finished explaining, she hugged me again. I hugged back and warm tears started going down my face.
"Oh, sweetie! I'm so sorry. I didn't know, but you shouldn't have run away. You should've told me what happened. You are the only thing I have left. Right before your dad died, he told me to take good care of you and that he'll always live on in our hearts. You are my only child and I don't want to lose you, honey," she said before tearing up.
I hugged her back and tried calming her down, but more tears fell from my face. I missed my dad and I wish he could be here with us. He always told me that I was so strong and that there was nothing I couldn't do. I just needed to believe in myself and I could do anything I set my mind to.
"I'm so sorry mom," I said, calming down.
"I'm sorry, too, Mel."
I wanna tell her about everything else in my life so badly... about Max and I being mates, about me being a horse shifter, about Beauty being being horse shifter and having an alpha as her mate, etc. I hope I can tell her soon.
"We'll talk with Alex later. Right now, we have to cheer your mom up," my horse said.
My mom and I went inside the house and we sat on our red couch.
"Mom, I love you with all my heart and I want to thank you for always being there to help me with what life brings," I said, seriously.
"Anytime, Mel. I love you, too," she said, crying happy tears.
I smiled at her warmly and said, "Come on, mom. Let's stop with the tears. Let's be happy!"
I searched my book bag for my phone and opened Spotify. I played my playlist and started dancing you the music.
I have to admit, I dance pretty good. I got it from my wonderful mom.
She laughed and danced along with me. We laughed, sang, and danced along to the music.
"This is the best day of my life!" I shouted laughing.
A second after I said that, the song "Best day of my life" played on my phone.
My mom laughed and said, playfully, "Looks like you're a fortune teller."
I giggled and we danced some more. After about an hour or so, I started getting hungry and a bit tired.
