"She likes Michael!" My horse and I said.

My train of thought got cut short by Mr. Kelly walking tob the field.

"We'll talk with her later," Whisper mindlinked me.

"I agree," I mindlinked back.

"Good morning everyone!" Mr. Kelly said, smiling.

"Good morning, Mr. Kelly!" everyone responded, extremely excited.

"As you know, today we will be going on a cross country course!" he said, excited as well.

Everyone cheered happily.

Then, I saw a girl named Veronica and her two friends, Mindy and Riley. Veronica is the most popular girl in the school but also the meanest. She had gotten away with so much bullying in the past, it was shocking to me. The girls smirked at me, devilishly.

I saw that Veronica, the "leader" of the group was staring lovingly at Max.

"Oh no she doesn't!" Whisper said.

"Don't worry, I won't let her take him away from us," I said.

She came closer to us without taking that smirk off her face.

"I would like you all to warm up your horses before we go. It will give me some time to get my horse Charcoal ready," Mr. Kelly said.

He left and let us warm up. I started by getting Spirit into a walk, that moved up to a trot, that moved up to a gallop.

"Hey Melody," Veronica sneered.

"What do you want?" I asked her.

"Oh relax, no need to be so rude do we now? I just wanted to know, are you and Max dating?" she asked, giving me a devilish smile.

"Yes we are. Why?"

"He's sooo hot. He won't be yours anymore once I talk to him," she whispered.

Veronica and her horse, King started getting closer to Max.
