My Story as a Horse Shifter [#1]

Chapter 4

"Well I have to go now. Thanks for everything, Alex!" I said.

"No problem!" she replied and shifted back into her beautiful brown horse.

I entered my house as soon as my mom was placing the plates on the table.

"Right on time, Melody," she said smiling.

I quickly changed the subject before she could ask any questions by saying, "Mmm, this looks delicious! Let's eat!"

"Okay, okay I know I make good food but take your time. The food's not going anywhere," she said, teasing me.

"Oh mom," I said. "What would I do without you?"

I kissed her on the cheek and started eating.

As soon as I finished, I went upstairs to read my fave book: Black Beauty.

I read for about an hour when my mom came into my room and said, "Melody, go to sleep now. I don't want you to be tired tomorrow."

"Okay, goodnight mom!"

"Goodnight!"

I changed into my pjs and went to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.

I can't wait until I can be able to shift! I wonder if I'll also gain a few of Alex's horse-like abilities once I have shifted completely. That'd be pretty amazing but that means I'd probably have to learn to use and control these abilities as well. And what I supposed to call her now, Alex or Beauty? Okay, information overload. Let's just try to get some sleep.

I had no idea what I had gotten myself into.
