Max and I had such a good time together.

I couldn't wait for Margie's birthday tomorrow. I already had her present and my outfit ready. Margie's present was a cute little summer dress that I hoped she'd like.

Since my mom knows how to sew, she made dresses for Margie and I that look beautiful. Margie's dress is a pink dress that will make her look like a princess. My dress is a lilac party dress that flowed around my waist and emphasized my curves. It goes with my cream colored flats.

Alex said that my mom had true talent and so my mom decided to make her a dress as well. Since Alex's favorite color was aqua, she made her a aqua colored dress that flowed around her waist and gave her a aqua clip-on flower to go with it.

"Wow, Maria. You really are a professional when it comes to these dresses. I couldn't thank you enough," Alex said, with a smile.

"Don't mention it. I hope you two have fun tomorrow and give me a call when the party is over okay?" she said.

"Of course, mom. Don't worry," I told her, with a reassuring smile.

"Now, do you girls want to teach me a little bit more about being a horse shifter?" she asked softly.

"Well, if you need to tell us something and we don't answer the phone, you can always mindlink us. Just think of that person and think of the message in your head. It will most likely get across. It works the same way as telepathic communication would, through our minds," I said.

She nodded her head.

"Thank you, Melody. Anything else?" she asked softly.

"No, don't worry, Maria. We've already told you everything there is to know. If you have a doubt, you can always ask Rick. I'm sure he'll be more than glad to help you," Alex said, laughing.

I giggled softly and mom blushed a little.

"Okay, okay. I'm going to start making lunch alright?"

She had already made us breakfast just after I had gotten back from seeing Max. I sure hope no one noticed that we were gone.

"Of course, mom. Do you mind if Alex and I head outside for a minute?" I asked politely.

"Not at all. I'll call you when it's served," she said, with a smile.

Alex took my hand and led me outside.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" she asked me, clearly confused.

"Oh nothing. I was just wondering... what do you think will happen with Veronica? I have a bad feeling about her and I don't want Margie's birthday to turn out to be a bummer. She's already hurt me enough. I wouldn't want Margie to suffer."

"Don't worry. If anything, Max will be there to help you. Mel, I don't know if you've noticed but when he looks at you, there's always that look in his eyes that says he'll do anything to help and protect you. That won't be a problem at all. Besides, Veronica's just jealous of you because she doesn't have what you two have," she said, with a smirk.
