Chapter 24

Hey guys! This is a pic of Moonlight, Michael's horse! On the next chapter, I'll put a pic of Max's horse, Lighting. Now let's get on with the story!

Oh, we're gonna beat her so bad!

She smirked at me and we waited for Mr. Kelly to signal us to start.

"Ready, set,.....GO!" he shouted.

I was in the lead by a long run. Spirit is a pretty fast horse so I am pretty sure we will win. I jumped all the jumps with ease with Veronica at our heels. Then, it was just pure land. Mr. Kelly told us to keep going until he said to stop.

Veronica and I were neck to neck but she was whipping her horse like crazy. She and King were starting to sweat, while Spirit and I were good to keep going.

I led Spirit to a gallop and Mr. Kelly said to stop. "Good job, boy!" I said, patting his neck as we slowed down.

Veronica came in a couple seconds later with the most furious look on her face.

"And the winner is Melody!" Mr. Kelly shouted.

Everyone cheered happily.

"They watched you guys during the entire race," Mr. Kelly told us.

"Mel!" Max said, coming towards me.

We embraced in a bear hug. He kissed me so passionately and I returned the kiss tenderly. Then, he carried me into the air.

"Max!" I mindlinked him.

He chuckled and quickly put me down. Kat and Jessica came towards me and hugged so tight I could barely breathe.

"Congrats, Mel. You showed Veronica where she belongs!" Jessica said.

I giggled and went to Kat.

"Great job, Melody! You put that big fat bully in her place!" she said, with her sassy attitude.

I laughed and went to Michael. He ran to me and hugged me quickly.

"Oh my gosh! You were amazing out there, Mel! I wish I could ride like you," he said, softly.
