Oh my gosh, is this it?

"What do we do, Beauty?" I asked my inner horse, hoping she would help.

"Alex, I think this is Jonathan," she mindlinked me.

I got my answer before she could reply. The alpha wolf shifted into a hot guy with brown hair and deep brown eyes.

"Jonathan!" Beauty and I said together.

"Alex please shift. I need to talk to you," he said, his voice serious.

Boy, sometimes he really gives me the chills.

I quickly shifted and asked, "Yes?"

"Look Alex, I know you want to help Mel because of what happened yesterday, but you guys have to come back. I mean, everyone's worried sick about her. Please listen to me. Max got so worried, he asked me to go look for you guys. It looks like you forgot to mask your scent though because my pack and I found you two pretty quickly.

His pack?! They knew about this too?

"What do you mean you and your pack? And how do you know about horse shifters masking their scent? You're really starting to freak me out, Jonathan," I said, backing away from him slightly.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to. Max is my horse shifter friend so he tells me these things. I'm really sorry if I scared you, Alex," he said, looking at me with sad eyes.

I smiled.

"It's okay," I said softly.

Johnathan smiled back.

Ugh, he's so cute jeez. I have to admit, I think I'm in love with him. He understands me perfectly and I have no doubt that he's willing to give up his life for me. I'm just too scared to tell him. What if he rejects me?

My thoughts were interrupted once I noticed that Mel had woken up. She looked at me with a weird look on her face that grew even weirder when she saw that Jonathan was here.

She automatically shifted and asked, "What is going on here? What are you doing here, Jonathan?" she asked, getting scared.

He explained to her how everyone was worried about her, wondering where she had run off to.

When Jonathan finished, Mel bowed her head down, not daring to look at him in the eye and said, "I'm so sorry. I didn't realize all the trouble I caused until now. I was just so confused and scared. I mean, I don't even know if I can be friends with Michael anymore."

"It's not completely your fault, Mel. Max and Michael both feel guilty about what happened and wanted to apologize. They wanted to tell you this in person, though," he said, trying to calm her.

She eventually calmed down.

"Oh and Jonathan?" I asked him.

"Yes?" He asked, turning to face me.
