Then, the next day, on Saturday, it all of a sudden started pouring out, so Jo had to cancel her plans, which upset her and her friend.

Jo was feeling very bored because she was stuck at home, and too tired to work out as a way of passing the time.
Jo, bored, asked Brick, "Hey Brick! I'm bored!"
"Well, have you checked ESPN to see what's playing?" Brick asked her.
"Yes, and it's just the women's golf championships, and you know I hate golf," Jo complained.
Brick, full of ideas, replied, "How about working out? That always seems to help you with your boredom!"
"I'm too tired to work out."
"Connect 4? I can grab it from the game closet in our room?"
Jo walked over to the couch and sat down with her arms crossed.
"I'm not in the mood for that," she said, in a bad mood.
"We can play Uno?" Brick suggested.
"I'm not in the mood for that either."
"Chess?"
"I'm not really up for chess, and besides, you always win," Jo said, grumpy.
"Well do you have any ideas?" Brick asked.
