You had been completely blindsided when you read the statement NCT Dream's public account had posted about you and your relationship with Chenle. You thought the two of you had mutually agreed to keep quiet about the breakup but it seemed he only agreed so you wouldn't get the word out about what had actually happened. That you had caught him cheating on you.
As much as you wanted to ignore everything and deal with the breakup on your own, it was going to be impossible after what the statement said. That you had only dated Chenle to boost your popularity and use him for his connections and money. None of it was true and yet people were so quick to believe him. It didn't help that your group had just debuted. It was easy to believe the lies that had been posted.
"I don't understand. Why am I being punished for this? None of it is even true!"
You could feel tears forming in your eyes out of frustration. Out of fear of what the scandal could cause to the group's success, they wanted to kick you out of the group and terminate your contract. Everything that you had worked for was going down the drain.
"It might not be true but everything has already spun out of control. We can't do damage control. Don't you want for the group to succeed?"
It was a low blow for your manager to bring your group into this. After training with your group for months, you had all gotten close. You knew how much they had all dreamed of becoming idols.
"This isn't fair and you know it."
Grabbing your things, you stormed out of the building. If they weren't going to have your back, you weren't going to stick around.

As much as you loved the girls from your group, you cut off contact from them. Despite how it killed you to admit it, your record company had been right. With you around, they were never going to succeed. It hurt to push them away but it was for the better. It would all be worth it when you would see them win their first award.
"Do you really think what you're doing is a good idea? You're letting him win."
"What's the point, Ruby? I've been blacklisted. No one wants to work with me anymore. I should've never believed that cheater."
Being a crybaby while drunk, your tears easily spilled as you were reminded about what had. It had been months and you still weren't over what had happened.
