Your squad was crammed into a single room, trying to figure out what they could do for you. They had missed your birthday and it didn't feel right that they hadn't done anything for you after you've always gone out of your way to make sure they felt celebrated on their day.
"Come on, guys. Think harder. We need to impress her. We really fucked up...."
"Language!"
Lois yells at Alex. Alex just rolls her eyes, already knowing that Lois wasn't going to do anything. She might be Sergeant but it was their day off.
"Buzz off. I can say whatever I want. Now before I was rudely interrupted." Alex purposely ignores Lois' glare while she continues to talk. "We really need to wow her. She was upset even though she didn't seem like it."
Everyone's guilt grows when they hear this. They had really let you down.
"We get it Alex. We messed up. You don't need to remind us every minute."
Lena says with a hint of annoyance.
"I'm just doing it so none of us forget again."
"Well you don't need to...."
"Guys!" Lois cuts them off, knowing they would start to argue again. "Focus! We need to think of what we can do for her. We won't do any thinking if you start fighting."
Deciding on a truce, Alex and Lena quiet down. Soon enough, ideas start being thrown around. Each idea was liked by one or two but never by all 10.
"What if we get her a date with that girl from TWICE for the ball. What was her name? Gina? Tina? Marina? Oh, I think it was Mina!"
No one immediately rejects Kara's idea. After all the ideas that had been thrown around, the date seemed like the best idea.
"Lets say that we think it's a good idea. How would we even get a date with her? Mina is famous. Like worldwide famous. Do you really think she would say yes to the Staff Sergeant?"
Ever the logic one, Kelly starts to ask the questions everyone was thinking.
"Well we get ahold of her stationary and send her a letter with it. I'm sure she'll definitely read it and then it'll just be a 50/50 thing. Now stop being a negative thinker and start manifesting that this will work."
Out of ideas and time, they started to work on the letter. If everything went according to plan, the letter would arrive just in time to get the girl time to think about it.

Mina loved reading fan letters. She loved being able to read just how much she and TWICE had impacted their life. It made her happy that the work she was doing was helping people. It made all her training, hard work and long hours worth it. Unfortunately, she couldn't respond to all of them like she'd hoped. The times she responded were rare and few in between.
As she's just about to finish reading the letters for the day, she stumbles upon a letter sent from someone in military. What specifically caught her eye was the fact that it was from someone in a high ranking position. She thinks it was sent to her on accident but decides to open it just to make sure that it was addressed to her.

We know you're a busy woman with all that you do so we'll make this quick. To make a long story short, we fucked up. Our Staff Sergeant is the sweetest woman and we forgot her birthday. We spent days thinking of what we could do to make it up to her but nothing seemed appropriate. It wasn't until one of us mentioned how much of a big fan she was of you that we had an idea of what we could do. The annual ball for the branch is coming up and we were hoping that you'd be our Staff Sergeant's date.
