Summary: Jennie takes care of you.
Jennie hadn't realized how important it was to have an assistant until you had been hired for the job. She had been against it at first but kept quiet about it when she realized how you kept her from her life falling apart. You made sure that she was awake whenever it was necessary. She didn't have to ask for caffeine because you always had it on hand just at the right moment. There was no more arguing on sets because you always made sure that she was comfortable in the environment. All her pictures were taken perfectly without needing to retake them. You basically knew her better than she knew herself.
You were the perfect assistant and she made sure to show her appreciation. Whenever she spoiled herself on shopping trips, she made sure to spoil you too. You had tried to decline any of her gifts but she wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Jen, you really don't have to..."
As the bag as handed to her, Jennie turns around and starts walking out the store.
"I could tell you really wanted it so I figured this was a perfect gift for a job well done."
"But it's my job to not screw things up. You don't have to buy me things just because I'm doing my job."
"Well you're the only reason why my life is not falling apart so this is the least that I could do. Now are you hungry? I think we passed by a coffee shop so we could eat something before we meet the girls."
"Just a little..."
"Perfect! Lets go."
Taking your hand, Jennie practically drags you to said coffee shop.

With Jennie insisting to order for you, you made your way over to find a table for the two of you. You made sure to keep an eye on Jennie to make sure that no problems occurred as she ordered. Once you were sure that she would be okay in line, you pulled out your phone. You were disappointed to find that your boyfriend still hadn't responded.
You felt bad for how things had gotten last night but he couldn't understand how important your job was. You understood that he was feeling neglected from how late you worked but you were the only one working after he lost his job.
'Are you still mad at me?'
'I'll make it up to you tomorrow.'
You kept staring at the open conversation to see if he would respond but your messages remained unanswered.
"Jennie!"
Hearing Jennie's name, you immediately look up to find Jennie talking to some fans. You're relieved that her yelling didn't grab anyone else's attention. Wanting to make sure that she was okay, you made your way over to Jennie.
She gives you a smile when you join her but you ignore her when you see who had noticed her.
"Sam?"
The two fans look over at you. Sam looks horrified and the girl he's with seems to look happy when she sees you.
"You must be (y/n)! Sam told me all about you. It's nice to finally meet his sister."
You weren't sure how the girl could be so oblivious about the tension between the two of you. Jennie seems to immediately piece everything together to realize that the fan she was talking to you was your boyfriend and the other woman.
"Well it's finally nice to meet my girlfriend's brother. She told me all about you, Sam. That's a pretty necklace by the way, Lia. I got her one just like it."
Your attention is grabbed by the necklace Lia was wearing. Upon looking closer at it, you could clearly tell it had been the same one that Jennie had given you as your first appreciation gift.
"Y...yeah. I really liked how it looked. I figured that Lia would like it."
Jennie laces her fingers with yours and pulls you closer to her. The three of them talk some more but you had tuned them all out. You were still shocked that your boyfriend of 3 years had been cheating on you. The worst part of it all is that he played along with Jennie. It seemed like he didn't want the girl to know that she was the other woman.
"Well we should get going, Sam. It was nice to meet you, Lia. If I'm being honest, I got the better sibling. You could do so much better."
Jennie drags you out of the shop and leads you to the furthest point in the mall, leaving Lia confused about the sudden departure.
"I'm sorry."
Is the first thing that comes out when the two of you finally get far enough.
"Sorry? There's nothing for you to be sorry about. How are you doing?"
You're unable to say a word as your tears finally start to spill. Jennie immediately pulls you into a hug and holds you tightly as you cried.
"H..how could he do that to me?"
Jennie gently rubbed your back as you continued clinging on to her. She hated to see how upset you were. It pissed her off that she hadn't done more to give Sam a piece of her mind. If she ever crossed paths with him, she would punch him right in the face.
"Because he's an idiot. You deserve someone better, (y/n). Someone that appreciates you and loves you the way you should be loved."
If you weren't so upset, you would be embarrassed for crying in the arms of your boss. You tried to control your tears but you just cried harder.

For the first time since the two of you met, Jennie was the one taking care of you. After you had calmed down at the mall. Jennie had invited you over to stay at her place. You had insisted you were fine to go back to your place but Jennie refused to let you go back.
"I'll send someone to grab your things and make someone look into getting you out of the lease."
"Jennie, you really don't have to do all of this. I'm fine."
"I don't have to but I want to. You've taken care of me since you started working for me...."
"But it's my job. I get paid to take care of you."
Jennie turns around with a raised brow.
"You go way above your job description. Now let me take care of you."
You reluctantly nod. You've always taken care of others so it was strange to let someone take care of you.
"Thank you, Jennie."
"Don't mention it. Now why don't you take a nap while I make some calls. When you wake up, it should be time for dinner."
"Do you nee..."
"Go take a nap. I'll take care of everything."
She gave you a smile, making you smile for the first time since the coffee shop.
"Okay."
You headed to the guest bedroom and tucked yourself in. You fell asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow.
