((G)-IDLE)
Summary: Having a rich girlfriend has its benefits.
You knew your girlfriend was filthy rich before you started dating. The wealth discrepancy between your wealth made you uncomfortable as you knew you would never be able to afford the luxurious that Minnie was used to but she had always reassured you that she didn't care about money. She loved you and that's all that mattered.
The two of you eventually started dating and the money difference hadn't been an issue until Minnie had asked you to move in with her. You were hesitant about it, unsure of how you could afford half of the rent but Minnie was quick to reassure you about the fact that she didn't mind paying all of the rent. She made more than enough to afford the apartment. All she wanted was to share an apartment with her.
Despite your hesitance, you moved in. Since you couldn't pay rent, you made it up in other ways by cooking and cleaning. Breakfast was already ready by the time Minnie woke up. Before work, you packed her a lunch and sent her on a way with a kiss. When Minnie would come home, dinner was already ready. The apartment was always spotless and there was hardly any dirty clothes as you always washed every other day.
Minnie would always tell you that you didn't have to do any of the cooking or the cleaning but you didn't mind it. You liked playing house with your girlfriend. It made you feel like if the two of you were already married.
X
While Minnie paid the majority of the bills, you still insisted to at least pay something. Minnie refused to let you see any of the bills except for a single one. Seeing the amount, made you believe that Minnie had purposely picked the cheapest one. It was still expensive but you could still afford it.
Everything was going fine until you lost you job. Being in a niche field, it was hard to find a job. You tried to hide it from Minnie until you could no longer afford it even with the little savings that you had in your account. You felt like a failure for being unable to provide and Minnie managed to find you in the middle of your breakdown after coming home early.
"(y/n), what's wrong?"
You tried to talk but it was impossible with your cries. Minnie pulled you on to her lap and gently rocked you while whispering reassurances in your ear. Her words managed to make you cry harder and eventually Minnie managed to realize that her reassurances were making things worse. It's not for almost an hour when you've calmed down.
You turn to face you and Minnie wipes away the remaining of your tears with a tissue.
"I can't pay."
She furrows her brows, unsure of what you were talking.
"What? Do you need money?"
You shake your head and lean over to grab the overdue bill to hand to Minnie. She takes one glance at it before throwing the paper aside.
"This is why you were crying, my love? Why didn't you come to me? You know that I could've paid it."
"I..." You didn't know what to say with Minnie looking at you. You felt like a failure. "I don't know if this is working out Minnie."
"W..what?" Minnie's eyes started to water. It killed you to be the one responsible for her pain but this was necessary. You weren't sure how long this relationship was going to last like this. "I don't understand. If this is about the bill, you don't have to pay it. I can pay it too."
"Minnie..." Sitting on her lap, you coudn't have the serious conversation that needed to happen. You climbed off of her lap to stand in front of her. "I lost my job. I can't pay the one thing that I could pay. I feel like such a failure. I can't even pay for one thing. All I am is a burden."
"No! You're not a burden! You do so much for me. You cook and clean but that doesn't even matter. Well it does but what I mean is that you don't have to do any of that. I love you. I want to marry you one of these days."
"But I have nothing to offer. Why would you want to marry me?"
Minnie stands up to take a hold of your hands.
"Because I love you. I always said that money doesn't matter to me and I'll always continue to say it. You don't have to offer me anything but your love."
"But...."
"but nothing. My money is your money, (y/n). I didn't want to tell you until it arrived and thankfully it did today." She lets go of your hand to reach for her bag. Minnie pulls out a letter addressed to you. "Open it."
You're unsure of what the letter holds so you slowly open it. Your jaw practically drops when you see card similar to the one that Minnie uses to pay for everything. Rather than her name being on the card, the card is in your name.
"Minnie, this is too much. I can't take it."
"I want you to have it. I have more money than I know what to do with it. This will solve the money issue. Please take the card and don't leave."
You weren't sure what you had done to deserve Minnie.
Rather than answer her, you pull her in for a deep kiss.
"Does that sort of make me a sugar baby?"
You ask when you pull back from the kiss. Minnie laughs at your question.
"As long as it means that you get to call me Mommy."
You were more than happy to thank Mommy for the credit card that she had given you.
