You knew it was only a matter a time before Mina left after getting scouted. Her heart wasn't fully in ballet but seeing her talk animatedly about the idea of becoming an idol made you realize that Mina had different dreams than yours.
"I'm sorry, (y/n). I don't want to leave but they want me in Korea."
You give her a small smile as you pull her into a tight hug. She starts sobbing in your arms when you began to rub circles on her back.
"There's nothing for you to be sorry, Mina. This is what you wanted, isn't it? Now you're going to go to Korea and become an idol."
"B...but I don't want to leave you. I don't know when I'll get to see you again."
Mina leaving sucked. You had planned on confessing to her after your competition but her leaving ruined it. It didn't matter anyways, when she told you about the scouts, you knew that Mina wasn't going to stick around for long.
"Then lets promise each other we'll find each other when you become an idol and I win a the world championship."
You weren't sure how long that will take but it was enough to calm Mina down.
"What if I become an idol and win the championship?"
She teases you.
"Then that still fulfills the promise. You'll just save me the trouble of going through the training."
You're relieved to hear her laughing again. It reassured you that Mina was going to be ok with leaving you to pursue her dream.
With Mina leaving, the two of you spent the days together leading up to her flight. As much as you wanted to cry when you hugged her goodbye, you held in your tears and promised to see her soon.

Unable to see each other, the two of you tried to call each other as much as possible. There were lots of calls for the first few months but they soon became less and less from how busy the two of you were. It wasn't until you stopped answering her calls when Mina realized things had changed. The two of you weren't those kids anymore. It was upsetting for you to suddenly be gone from her life after all those years together. It's a hard pill to swallow but she eventually has to. She needed to put all her focus on their debut.

It's years later and TWICE had become a huge success due to their efforts. With less stuff on her plate, Mina decided it was time to pick up ballet again. She missed it and there was a competition being hosted a few months away in Seoul.
During her trainings, memories of her past are brought back. It makes her miss you and it makes her wonder what had happened for you to stop answering her calls. The thought of going back to Japan in search of you had come to mind but her parents let her know that you had moved away. Unfortunately for her, her parents didn't have a clue as to where you had gone. There are times where she often wonders how things would've been like if she hadn't moved away.
