Summary: Minji fears for your safety
Minji was against you leading the charge. You had generals, military advisors, and even knights to go in your stead but you refused.
"It's not safe! You're the queen of this kingdom! How can you leave it unattended?"
You continued dressing for the battle coming ahead as you watched Minji pacing back and forth.
"Have you forgotten, darling? You're queen too. It won't be unattended. I leave it in good hands. I'm supposed to lead by example. How am I supposed to tell those men and women to lay down their lives for the kingdom when I'll be staying back and guarded behind these castle walls." You finish putting on the chest piece of your armor and turn to face your wife. You made sure to commit every feature to memory as you were unsure of when you'll be returning. "I'm an excellent warrior. Had I not been queen, I would be standing right beside our knights. I have to do this, JiU."
Minji let out a sigh, letting you know she was giving in. It killed you being the reason to see her so upset but you weren't going to change your mind. You were going to lead the charge to stop the foreign army from invading your kingdom.
"Please be careful. I want you back in one piece or..." She let her fingers trail up your chest to then wrap them around your necks. You let out a gasp as her fingers squeezed the sides. "I'll bring you back from dead and kill you myself. Got it."
"Y...y...yes."
You cough as she lets go of your neck. Minji waits until you catch your breath before pulling you in for a kiss.
"Good. Maybe the gods be with you."

Minji follows after you as you make your way to the castle courtyard. She could feel all eyes on the two of you but she ignored them. She walked you to your horse to give you a goodbye kiss.
"For our kingdom."
You nod and give her another kiss.
"For our kingdom."
You lead the charge with the others following after you.
"Yoohyeon!"
The loyal knight quickly halts her horse and turns it around to face her. She leads her horse back to where Minji was standing.
"My queen?"
"Make sure that (y/n) makes it back in one piece. She never gives herself enough credit for restoring the kingdom's glory. Our kingdom will suffer a major loss if anything happens to her. Keep our queen safe."
Yoohyeon salutes her.
"I'll make sure nothing happens to her."
Minji closes her eyes and bows her head. She knew that Yoohyeon will protect you at all costs. She knew that she didn't need to specifically tell one of them to take care of you as they all loved you but it gave her some peace knowing your most loyal knight will be watching out for you.
"Be safe."

After extensive days of planning the surprise attack, your efforts had paid off. The enemy had been caught by surprise. The attack was success with your army only suffering minor losses. A few deaths, some lost limbs, plenty of cuts and bruises but the attack had been a success.

Minji hurried out of your shared room when she heard the bells. It had only been a few weeks since you had left and you were already back. Trusting your leadership, Minji knew the attack had been a success. She rushes down the halls to greet you in the throne room. Instead of greeting you, she finds Yoohyeon with Dami, Handong and Siyeon. The three of them bow when they spot her.
"Where is she?!"
Minji begins to fear the worst from the lack of your presence. Every time you returned from your travels without her, you always greeted her in the throne room to let her know about your success.
"Your majesty, the queen was hurt during battle. She was taken to the court physician upon our...."
Minji doesn't bother to stay for the rest of the chat. She needed to see you. She had to see you were okay. She felt bad not giving the three knights a proper greeting after what they had just endured but that could always wait. She had to make sure that you were still breathing.

"I've properly stitched all your cuts. The bruises should be gone in a few days with proper icing. Please get plenty of rest and give me a visit if the pain medication isn't helping. I'll let the guards know to come down and help you back to your room"
You thank the physician for their help after being so understanding. Since your had sustained major injuries, your knights had insisted to visit the physician first. You had refused, wanting to greet Minji but they didn't let you. Four against one had been unfair. Especially since you were injured and they didn't have a scratch.
"Gahyeon! Gahyeon! Where is she...."
Time seems to slow down as you watch Minji come down the stairs. She looked ethreal. Like a goddess that had come to grace you with her presence. She was mesmerizing. After all this time, you still couldn't believe you had married her.
"..."
"An angel.."
You whisper breathlessly. Minji's furious expression morphs into a shy once when she hears your comment. It was clear she had come down to lecture you about getting hurt but it seemed forgotten when she takes a seat and gently takes ahold of your hand.
"You got hurt."
"But I'm not dead."
JiU rolls her eyes, making you laugh. It's cut short as laughing hurts you.
"Don't do that again. I'll lock you in the dungeon before I let you go into battle again."
"But we don't have a dungeon."
"Oh, we do. I made one just for you."
You're not sure if she's joking or not based on the serious expression she has. Unsure, you decide to play it safe.
"I won't do it again."
"Good. Now scoot over. I hadn't slept in days."
You scoot over, allowing Minji to lay besides you. She's careful to place her arm over your waist so she can pull you close to her. It doesn't take long for the two of you to fall asleep.
