"It was..." Davina chuckled nodding. "It should have been a warning, even then I was anti Lannister."
"What did my lovely wife do?" Harwin mused.
"She was not having it-" Gaena began.
"Let me remind you, you got Tommen. You didnt have anything to complain about." Davina reminded her.
"And Daemon was paired with a little Tully." Gaena remarked.
"He complained that he couldnt get the fish smell off of him the next week." Davina recalled.
"Little Lewyn, a head shorter than our Davina." Gaena went on.
"And he was fucking handsy!" Davina declared. "Little shits face was already at my chest and his hands! And you bribed someone, I know it." Davina declared pointing an accusatory finger at Gaena.
"Me?"
"For Tommen." Gaena chuckled out leaning into Brandon.
"I definitely did." Gaena agreed. "Can't blame me, Dornish sun kissed Prince."
"That's ones dornish." Davina remarked nodding to Criston.
"Just a bit." Criston added as Gaena looked him over more closely.
"Your hubby is going to be jealous Gia." Davina warned.
"Is Gaena as shameless of a flirt as Davina is?" Harwin teased.
"It must be that Targaryen gene." Brandon agreed teasingly as Gaena slapped at his chest and Davina at Harwin. "Goodness, their tempers." Brandon mused kissing Gaena's neck.
Alicent felt like she had friends, a family. She felt a part of something as they all sat around and Davina and Gaena remarked on their younger years. Alicent was never close with her siblings so seeing Gaena and Davina laughing out, sitting in their husbands laps, the children's chatter slowly fading with each passing hour as they grew tired.
Alicent didn't say much, but just being a part this, hearing their stories, their laughs, she found herself laughing along with them. Davina and Gaena had gotten up a few times delivering children to their beds within Winterfell. Alicent wasnt surprised when Aemond got up in the middle of the night and crawled into Davina's lap. Alicent watched how easily Davina soothed Aemond back to sleep in her arms. Massaging her hands through Aemond's hair, twirling little patterns on his arm as she pulled the blanket up over them as Brandon added another few logs to the fire.
Alicent wondered if her children would ever love her as they did with Davina or if she had already lost that chance to bond with them. She noticed how Harwin so easily held both Aemond and Davina in his arms kissing at her neck.
Alicent did love Viserys but it more of a respect and kindness sort of love. They were never like this, Viserys wasnt that type of person. Alicent didnt think she wanted that with Viserys anyways but looking at them now. Looking at them, it made Alicent lovesick.

Breaking fast the next morning the children were already chattering with excitement as they piled food onto their plates.
"Sleep well?" Davina asked sitting across from Alicent.
"yes... thank you again... for all this." Alicent remarked.
"I didn't do anything. This is all the Starks." Davina countered with a wink.
"I know we haven't always... seen eye to eye." Alicent remarked. "But I am grateful for you Davina, and this... friendship." she offered hopefully. Davina stared back at her a moment longer. Was she becoming friends with Alicent? Was that was this was? She didnt really have many friends. Rhaenyra would surely hate it but Alicent was very alone in the capital and Davina didnt realize that maybe she was the problem too. But Alicent didnt have a say, she was married off when she was young, just as davina was. The only difference was Alicent didnt have the backbone back then to stand up for herself and burn the husbands to the ground.
"To friendship." Davina agreed lifting her glass to Alicent.
Alicent didnt know what to think, what would happen when they got back. Would Davina pick Rhaenyra, they had been through so much, they were blood but this trip, moons of traveling, Alicent hoped she could keep a friend.
She liked that Davina was strong and brave. She liked that Davina took what she wanted, fought for her family, fought for love. She wanted to be more like Davina.
"Pass the juice." Draeya instructed.
"Please." Harwin added. Draeya stared back at him. "Draeya, manors." Harwin requested.
"Pass the juice..." She locked eyes with Harwin. "PLEASE!" She said dramatically.
"Thank you." Harwin answered passing her the pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice.
"Etiquette lessons." Gaena added and Davina groaned.
"We can have all the kids learn." Alicent offered, she had been through etiquette lessons herself when she was younger.
"If mama says no, then it's a no." Draeya told them all. "If I say no, then it's a no as well." Draeya looked to Davina. "Right mama?"
"Davina." Harwin begged.
"Davina can go through it again!" Gaena declared. "This time you can have your handsome husband as a partner."
"No guarantees I will keep my hands to myself." Harwin remarked running a hand over Davina's back.
"I would be mad if you did." Davina countered leaning into him.
It felt like living in another reality. Drifting away with every snowflake. Alicent didnt want to leave la, la land. Because when they got back to the capital, her roles and responsibilities would come rushing back and she wouldnt be free to be herself. She would have to be composed and together, then again... she looked to Davina. Davina had been a princess her whole life and yet she never cared what anyone else thought. Could Alicent possibly still try and live and be free while she was still young enough to care and want for more, before that light was extinguished.
