Wednesday's eyes shot open and she sat up straight, arms unfolding from their crossed position on her chest to her head which pounded and thumped in pain. "Hey hey, you hit your head pretty hard." A gentle voice spike from beside her. She looked to the source and saw that it was, "Xavier." He smiled sheepishly, "finally paid you back." He said. She knew what he was referencing, the funeral, her stopping him from being cremated. "I didn't ask you to." She told him stiffly. "You didn't need to." He told her, reaching out his hand to touch her face. She flinched away before allowing him to move her hair to inspect the scratches and cuts."I'm so sorry I didn't get there sooner." Xavier spoke softly, staring into her eyes. "I was enjoying the near death experience, which I thought was going to be my death. It was such a creative way to die. Shame..." Wednesday responded. "Well, I for one, am glad you're not dead." Xavier smiled, "Oh, and you've been out for two days." "Wouldn't expect anything less." Wednesday replied.
"WEDNESDAY! OH MY GOSH YOU'RE AWAKE!" Enid burst through the doors of the hospital room. "I'VE BEEN VISITING YOU EVERY SECOND I COULD CONSIDERING THE HOSPITAL IS OFF CAMPUS!" She cried, rushing over to embrace Wednesday before she could top her. Wednesday pushed her off gently, "thank you for the...concern. But, could you not speak so loudly. You're voice is incredibly high, so high it hurts." "Oh..." Enid retreated and pulled up a chair to sit beside her friend.
"Do you know when I can leave this infernal hell hole? And not the good kind." Wednesday grimaced looking down at the blinding white walls and the suffocating blue scrubs she had on. What kind of disgusting torture is this? She asked herself. "Uhm...I don't really know, but Principal Weems is downstairs talking to the doctors. I'm sure she could get you discharged." Xavier told them. "Could you go and talk to her Xavier? I kinda want to speak to my friend alone for a bit. You already got some time with her." Enid told him. He chuckled, "sure."
Once Xavier left the room Enid turned back to Wednesday excitedly, "Oh my gosh! Xavier Thorpe was in your room. Literally the most popular guy at nevermore! He dated the queen bee! He's been visiting you a lot." Wednesday cocked an eyebrow, "I've been out for two days. Surely there can't be enough times to be considered 'a lot'." Enid smiled at her knowingly, "you have no idea." Wednesday chose not to care. She dusted it off her shoulder and looked out the window, Jericho looked gloomy today. What a great way to wake up.
"Good morning Wednesday. It seems Mr.Thorpe here was right. You do seem to be good to go." Principal Weems spoke as she, in turn entered the hospital room after Xavier, who needed brightly at Wednesday. Wednesday nodded curtly, "does anyone have any clothes I could wear?" Enid nodded, "I brought some just in case." She informed her as she pulled out one of Wednesday's black oversized sweatshirts, a white long sleeved shirt to wear underneath, shorts, white tube socks, and a pair of black leather Doc Martens lace up shoes. "Sorry if you don't like the outfit, I went for cozy and casual and don't really know your style. But I took clothes from your closet." Wednesday shook her head, "this will do."
She took the clothes from Enid and hopped out of bed, shakily at best. Blood went rushing to her head and the world seemed to spin, her vision was cloudy and she stumbled about. "Woah there." Xavier laughed, he steered her towards the washroom and shut the door behind her, allowing her some privacy. He turned around to see Enid smirking at him, "what?" He asked. She shrugged but kept smiling.

The three teenagers and their principal left the hospital and walked towards the van parked across the street so they could drive back to nevermore. When they reached the car Enid squeaked out a "Shotgun!" And ran to the passengers seat. Xavier shrugged and opened the door for Wednesday, but as Wednesday was about to get in she heard someone call her name. "Wednesday!" It was Tyler. "I'm so glad to see that you're alright. You had me worried." He told her, reaching out to hold her hand. She pulled it back and held her sides. "Yes. Well, we're going back to nevermore. Goodbye." She said stiffly and got into the car. Xavier watched the interaction, seeing clear as day how uncomfortable Wednesday was. This dude needs to take a hint. He thought and got into the car as well.
Once they were all buckled up, Weems started the engine and they commenced their drive back to nevermore. The ride was silent and still. Enid, of course, broke it. "Oh! I forgot. Your parents sent you a phone! They were so upset that they couldn't be here to check in on you, and they didn't allow the crystal ball to be in your hospital room. Something about it being a safety hazard or whatever. Here it is!" Enid turned around and handed Wednesday the phone.
Wednesday opened the box to see a black iPhone staring back at her. "I already put mine, Ajax, and Xavier's numbers in there. Your parents' too." Enid informed her. She continued to blabber on but Wednesday had blocked her out. She was staring at the phone in confusion. "I'll show you how to use and set it up later." Enid told her. Wednesday just nodded and put it back in the box.

"So...you're all set! TikTok, Snapchat, Insta, you got your contacts all set, you know how to type, google...yeah, you're good! And you have Spotify premium where you can get all of your songs on your phone and listen to them with headphones so I won't have to hear it!" Enid smiled, then put on a serious expression, "Welcome...Wednesday Addams...to the 21st Century!" She exclaimed. "I got you a phone case too!" She said, bringing it out. It was a black phone case, it had a drawing of a human heart chained up in metal shackles. "I saw it and it made me think of you. "You didn't have to." Wednesday pointed out. "But I did! It's what friends do!" Enid smiled, putting the phone case on and handing her the phone. "Voilà!" Wednesday offered her a short and quick, but genuine, smile, before it faded back to her usual resting face.
Wednesday already knew how to navigate and operate her phone. She was a quick learner. So, when an unidentified number texted her, her eyes widened a bit.

Hey. You're breathtaking. Can't wait to see you tomorrow
(Five attachments included)Wednesday clicked on the photos and was even more surprised to see that they were photos of her. Her in the hospital, her sitting by Enid and Ajax, her unconscious on the ground, her walking towards the car and her sitting in a booth at the café. She had a stalker.

I can't wait to hold you in my arms ;)Wednesday shuddered. This person was making her very uncomfortable. She almost threw her phone onto the ground.

Do not text this number.
You love me. You will love me.
Having a stalker was not as exciting as she had anticipated. Wednesday blocked the number and put her phone on her desk. That was enough electronics for one day. She sighed and took out her typewriter, she didn't download any songs on her phone yet and didn't feel like listening to music at the moment regardless. She sighed and placed her fingers on the keys and began typing. She enjoyed her writing time, it separated her from her reality and allowed her to fall into her own world where she knew everything that would happen and she had control. She had the answers. She could put it to chaos, and ensue peace. It's what she liked the most about writing. They were her pawns, and they did not complain.
