Carl and Hedley were outside with Rick. He was patching up a hole in one of the fences while the boys played nearby.
They were running around. Hedley was showing Carl weird bugs and small reptiles in the mud, much to the fascination of Carl. That was when they saw someone in the mix of the walkers at the fence. A woman.
She was carrying a basket and was bleeding. Her eyes were big and hopeful as she stared at the boys.
"Dad!" Carl called for Rick. He ran over. "Should we help her?" Carl asked.
But the kids were already moving towards the gate. Much to Rick's dismay but ended up going in and getting the woman out of there, she was weak and losing blood. Carl saw what was in her basket and shared a look with Rick.
They took her to just outside the cell block, calling for Hershel.
Hershel came hobbling through, "Is she bit?"
Rick shook his head, "Gunshot."
"Carl, get a blanket. Beth, water and a towel." Hershel instructed as he got to the floor beside the woman.
"She's not coming in the cell blocks." Rick said, then the woman flinched at Hershel's touch, reaching for her sword, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Steady now." He took the swords away from her, but she stumbled back, looking around wildly, "Hey, hey, look at me. Look at me. Who are you? Hey, it's all right. We're not going to hurt you unless you try something stupid first, all right?"
Daryl came in, "Rick." Then spotted the woman, "Who the hell is this?"
"You wanna tell us your name?" He asked her. No answer. "You wanna tell us your name?" No answer.
"Y'all come on in here." Said Daryl, encouragingly, looking down at Hedley, "You too, Spider Monkey."
Rick frowned, "Everything all right?"
"You're gonna wanna see this."
"Go ahead." He said to Hershel, "Carl, get the bag." Carl did so as Rick took the sword, "We'll keep this safe and sound. The doors are all locked. You'll be safe here. And we can treat that." He gestured to the wound.
"I didn't ask for your help."
"Doesn't matter. Can't let you leave." Rick and the boys went to the cell block, only to find Carol on one of the beds. "Oh, God." Rick hugged her, "Thank God. Thank God. Thank God. How?"
"Solitary. Poor thing fought her way into a cell. Must have passed out. Dehydrated." Daryl explained.
Hedley flapped his hands, jumping up and down when it was his turn to hug her. Carol looked so happy seeing the excitement. She hugged him as tight as she could, she was still weak.
The group then went back out, leaving Carol to rest, and confronting the now patched up woman.
"We can tend to that wound for you, give you a little food and water, and then send you on your way." Rick said, kneeling down, "But you're gonna have to tell us how you found us and why you were carrying formula."
"The supplies were dropped by a young Asian guy with a pretty girl." She spoke, voice low.
"What happened? Were they attacked?"
"They were taken." Hedley whined at the words, Daryl pulled him back.
"Taken? By who?"
"By the same son of a bitch who shot me."
"Hey, these are our people. You tell us what happened now!" He grabbed her arm but she pushed out of his grip, furious.
"Don't you ever touch me again!"
