Wednesday's pov:

I watch from the dorm as the cars flood into the main gate. Enid is still asleep. My poor friend...it's parent's weekend. Enid then wakes up.
-"hey roomie"
She says as she stretches and yawns.
-"Enid"
I say with a slight nod to greet her. She smiles.
-"one day I'm gonna get a morning hug from you Wednesday"
I think for a moment.
-"doubtful"
I say looking back out the window.

Enid's pov:

-"whatcha looking at?"
I ask, trying to look from my bed.
-"it seems parents weekend is upon us"
She says nonchalantly, still looking out the window. Suddenly I feel a pit of nervousness in my stomach. I swallow it back and manage a smile.
-"excited?"
I ask. Finally she stops looking and turns to me.
-"far from it. One of the only bonuses to being here was being away from my insufferable parents...especially my mother"
Suddenly there's a knock at the door, it's Mrs. Thornhill. She cracks open the door and peaks in.
-"hey girls, sorry to interrupt but Mrs. Weems has requested everyone's presence out on the quad"
I smile.
-"ok we'll be out in a sec!"
-"ok see ya girls down there!"
She says with a warm smile and then closes the door. Wednesday grabs her bag and I get dressed then we head out the room.

Wednesday's pov:

As we reach the quad principal Weems is already well into her speech, but then I hear something that really catches my attention.
-"but we are happy to report Eugene is well on the mend and is excepted to make a full recovery"
She says with a smile. A pit of anger suddenly hits me. Eugene is on the brink of death! But suddenly he's fine and "on the mend"??
-"you should go visit him"
Enid says looking at me cautiously.
-"I'm the reason he's in the hospital"
I say biting back my anger. I'm not mad at Eugene or Enid, but I'm furious with myself for not being there when he needed me. Enid places her hand on my shoulder and looks at me sympathetically.
-"that is not your fault ok?"
She says sternly. I look away to avoid eye contact. By accident I notice my family. Enid notices.
-"aww your brothers so cute"
She says with a kind smile.
-"my brothers not the issue. It's just my parents"
I then notice Enid looking uneasy, though it's clear she's trying to hide it.

Enid's pov:

-"I'm sure their not terrible"
I say trying to muster a smile but Wednesday's cold gaze breaks though my shell.
-"would you look at my family..talk about toxic pack mentality"
I say looking at my parents with my brothers, whom their so proud of.
-"I give my mom thirty seconds before her judgy claws come out"
I say holding back my anger as I slightly glare in their direction. I then meet Wednesday's gaze and my anger melts quickly. I awkwardly laugh a bit and she looks away. We each take a few steps forward. We look at each other nod and then split off to our families.

Wednesday's pov:

Poor Enid. I do hope this weekend won't be too terrible for her. I don't entirely mind my parents being here though, I have some questions I need answered after all. Suddenly I'm met with a hug. It's my father.
-"oh how we've missed those accusing eyes and youthful sneer!"
He exclaims. He releases my from the hug.
-"so how's Nevermore?"
He asks happily.
-"I thought Thing was filling you in on my every move?"
I reply. My parents exchange a guilty look and everything falls awkward.
-"so how's the little fella doing?"
My father asks concerned.
-"does he still have all his fingers?"
He asks, wiggling his fingers.
-"don't worry I haven't hurt him"
My parents look relieved.
-"so how has school been for you deary?"
My mom asks, bringing back their original question. I take a breath.
-"since you've abandoned me here I've been hunted, haunted, spelled..and the target of an attempted murder"
I say with a slight smile. My dad places his hand over his heart.
-"ah Nevermore how I love you so!"
He exclaims lovingly.

Enid's pov:

-"Enid! How've ya been?"
My mom asks, giving me a hug. I then start counting quietly to myself.
-"have ya not been waxing?"
She says "concerned" as she lifts my chin and examines my face.
-"three seconds. That's your personal best!"
I say with a forced smile. I place my hands on my mom's shoulders and lightly move her off me.
-"it's good to see you too mom"
She smiles.
-"and you dad"
My dad smiles as he remains quiet, leaning on the pillar.

Wednesday's pov:

After light annoying conversation principal Weems finally speaks up.
-"alright."
She says, interrupting my parents flirting.
-"let's get down to business. Wednesday's therapist feels she hasn't been very open to the process. And we both agree it would be most beneficial for you ALL to attend a family session this weekend"
-"no."
I say sternly.
-"I figured that would be your response but I'm sure your parents can see the upside to it?"
-"um not to side with Wednesday.."
My mom starts. I shoot her a glare.
-"but we are only here for the weekend"
-"oh come on Tish, to be honest, I've always been a BIG fan of head shrinking"
My father says with a smile. The principal smiles awkwardly and my mom takes a breath.
-"not that kind of head shrinking my love"
She says lightly placing her hand on his chair.
-"oh"
He says disappointedly.
-"that's disappointing...but hey anything for our little girl"
Principal Weems smiles, clearly relieved. Though it's obvious me and my mom are opposed to the idea.
