This is war

Enid's pov:

I wake up and stretch out on the bed, I don't really remember falling asleep. I hear as the door opens.
-"oh. Your awake"
It's Wednesday.
-"how did you sleep mi querida?"
She asks, sitting beside me on the bed.
-"just wonderfully my dear"
She looks down at me and smiles a bit as she places her hand over mine.
-"good to hear, but I think it's about time we get ready for dinner"
-"oh is it like a fancy dinner?"
-"not really just my parents like everyone to look a bit more formal for dinner"
-"oh ok understood"

Wednesday's pov:

Enid grabs some clothes from her bag and gets in the shower. I throw on one of my dresses and touch up my makeup a bit.
-"um so I didn't really know to bring any fancy clothes so is this alright?"
Enid asks as she steps out of the bathroom, her beautiful cotton candy hair still wet from the shower. She's wearing a dress shirt, a dark blue skirt, and a blue tie.
-"y-you look amazing"
I reply. Sure it's not the most formal thing ever but it's close enough and my parents will live.
-"feel free to touch up your makeup if you'd like while I go get the others"
Enid nods and I exit the room.

I knock on the first door.
-"Yoko, Bianca, it's time for dinner. Are you dressed?"
I open the door to see them posing in their suits.
-"pretty good looking huh?"
Bianca asks with a smirk. I roll my eyes.
-"yes, yes you two look fine. Now come on they'll be serving the appetizers soon"
-"ohh appetizers"
I hear Yoko say happily as I exit the room.
-"Ajax, you ready?"
-"a-ah yeah, is this formal enough?"
He asks, opening the door. It's his outfit from the Rave'N except now he's wearing a tie.
-"looks fine"

Next I head to Xavier's room. I knock on the door and enter.
-"how do I look?"
He asks I'm a weird tone as he leans against the wall. His hair is pushed back and he's wearing an all black suit from an expensive brand along with shiny black shoes.
-"ok, come on"
I say, gesturing for him to follow me out of the room. He shrugs and follows.
-"you know Wednesday your a really hard girl to impress"
He says, leaning down beside me as we continue walking.
-"oh yeah? I hadn't noticed you had anything impressive about you"
I reply, continuing to walk.

He laughs a bit.
-"ouch. That kinda hurt, I'm a pretty cool guy you know"
-"I'm sure, at least you semi tolerable to be around"
I say as we approach the rest of the group. We head downstairs into the dining room where we greet my parents.
-"ah Xavier my boy! You look dashing!"
My father exclaims. Xavier laughs a bit.
-"I well thank you sir! You look marvelous yourself"
We all sit down. Xavier sits on one side of me and Enid on the other.

-"so I trust you'll all be participating Saturday?"
My father asks, taking a sip of wine. Enid leans over to me a bit.
-"um Wednesday? What's going on Saturday?"
She whispers. Shit. Had I really forgotten to tell her??

I squeeze her hand a bit.
-"there's a fencing tournament my family is hosting. I'm sorry but I REALLY need you to participate"
I whisper back.

Enid's pov:

-"but of course sir! Sounds like a fun experience, I wouldn't dare miss it. Thank you for inviting us all to participate!"
Xavier says, happily.
-"I'm sure Enid's just as excited, aren't ya Ens?"
He asks with a bright smile. What kind of game is he playing at? I notice Wednesday's parents looking at me.
-"you'll be participating as well yes?"
Her mother asks. I look at Wednesday and she looks at me desperately.
-"umm yes, of course I'll be participating. Thank you for offering us to take part in your family tournament"
I reply with a smile. Wednesday looks relieved.

-"no problem! We wouldn't wanna exclude you guys from all the fun"
Mr. Addams says happily. It's crazy, Wednesday's family is so bubbly in comparison to her.
-"yes we'll Ajax is the only one not competing in fencing"
Wednesday says. Her father nods.
-"that's alright, there's always other things he can do"

(Time skip)

-"I know! The two little love birds over here took FOREVER to get together!"
Yoko yells, referring to me and Wednesday while we all laugh.
-"I hate to touch on the topic but I heard Wednesday had a boyfriend as well?"
Her mother asks. Xavier laughs a bit.
-"yes we'll your daughter is quite popular with us boys"
He says, glancing over to Wednesday. I don't like the way he's looking at her. I don't wanna sound jealous or possessive but something really bugs me about Xavier and Wednesdays friendship. Ughh maybe I am the issue, I sound ridiculous.

-"I bet! She has our charming Addams blood running through her veins"
Her father exclaims.
-"how about you Xavier? Any girls your interested in? Or I'm sure I fine young man such as yourself already has a girlfriend"
Mrs. Addams says. Xavier's cheeks are red as she talks to him. It's been obvious since the second we walked through the front door that he had a thing for Wednesday's mom.

He looks at Wednesday again and smiles a bit.
-"actually no, I'm currently single. After Wednesday rejected me I've been trying to work on myself"
He says, giving me a look. My jaw almost drops. Wednesday doesn't seem to be paying attention and Bianca crosses her arms and glares at him.
-"ahh so YOUR the young man who fancied our daughter"
-"indeed. I just hope one day I can be worthy enough of finding a fantastic girl just like her, I mean...seeing as how she appears to already be taken"
He's giving me a look with a stupid grin on his face and it's like I can tell what he's actually saying.

He's pretending to be the good guy, attempting to paint me as unworthy or whatever. It's obvious he still has feelings for Wednesday and I can see his distaste and arrogance in his eyes. I return the look to him and he smiles.

Ok Mr. Thorpe, THIS is war.

Xavier's pov:

Pleasure doing business with you miss Sinclair, I'm glad you agree we need to settle this. I'm gonna wipe the FLOOR with you.
