Making a move

Wednesday's pov:

-"mother. Father"
I say, walking down the stairs. My father looks up from his paper.
-"yes cara mia?"
He asks.
-"I believe I've worked out the dates for when my friends visit"
He smiles and turns a page in the paper.
-"fantastic, when shall they be coming?"
-"the 21st. Well 5 of them are coming on the 21st, one will be here on the 27th"
My father nods his head.
-"sounds good sounds good, so that'll be 6 plane tickets?"
I shake my head.
-"no, only 4. The other 2 said their parents can pay for their tickets"

My father frowns.
-"are they sure?"
He asks. I nod my head and he shrugs. I look around and do my notice my mom anywhere.
-"where'd mother go?"
I ask.
-"ah she's down in the garden with the rest of her club"
-"club?"
-"yes your mother gets together with a few girls a week to work on their planting skills"
-"oh"

I look at my dad for a moment, surprised he's not dying without my mom directly beside him.
-"well ok I'll see you later then"
-"enjoy your time Wednesday, lunch will be done shortly"
He says as I walk back up to my room.

Ajax's pov:

Xavier:
-'damn so Enid dumped you?'

Me:
-'she didn't dump me 🙄'
-'the break up was mutual'

Xavier:
-'yuh huh sure'
-'anyways you got another girl yet??'

Me:
-'nah it hasn't even been a week since the break up'

Xavier:
-'and?'
-'you still like her or sum? 🧐'

Me:
-'nah'
-'like I said it was mutual'
-'besides she's pretty into someone else'

Xavier:
-'tsk tsk tsk'
-'your certainly failing with the ladies my friend'

Me:
-'oh and your so great?'

Xavier:
-'very'
-'I happen to finally be winning over the hottest girl at our school'

I think for a moment at who he might be thinking of. Could it be Bianca? She's not my type but if we were going with my type it'd be Yoko, Enid, or Ashley.

Me:
-'who?'

Xavier:
-'Wednesday'
-'duh'

I nearly choke on my French fries as I read his texts.
-"what!?"
I yell, recovering my breath.

Me:
-'you've got a thing going with Wednesday??'

Xavier:
-'mhmmmm'
-'impressive right?'

Me:
-'um are you sure dude?'

Xavier:
-'totally'
-'she even invited me to her place for the holidays'

Yeahh what Xavier doesn't know is that I'm mostly the reason he was invited but I won't spoil that for him.

Xavier:
-'so during the holidays I plan to officially make my move'

Me:
-'😬'
-'um yeah so uh I heard her and Enid are dating'
-'I uh...kinda thought you knew'

Xavier:
-'...'
-'Enid's gay??'
-'🤣🤣'
-'bruh there's no WAY your break up was "mutual" then'

Me:
-'huh your handling this way better than I thought'

Xavier:
-'well it's not like there's any competition there'
-'Wednesday's straight'
-'even if she wasn't Enid's no where near her type'

Me:
-'um dude I think your kinda missing the point here'
-'their dating'

Xavier:
-'who'd ya hear it from'

Me:
-'Enid'

Xavier:
-'yeah I wouldn't believe that'
-'it's obvious enough Enid likes her but I haven't seen anything to indicate Wednesday liking her back'

...is this boy blind!? There's so much attraction between the two of them! How has he never noticed??

Me:
-'hey but Enid wouldn't lie about something like this'
-'or low key at all for that matter 🤔'
-'if your so confident why don't you just ask Wednesday?'

Xavier:
-'maybe I will'
-'but I don't like adding to rumors'
