We bring the third box to the living room.

"This is the last one." Silver execute.

Wasn't as easy as expected. Fortunately, we were not alone. we unpack all the boxes one after the other. they are filled to bursting with beautiful decorative balls of different shapes and sizes and silver, gold, red and green garlands. Their Christmas spirit will satiate the room. Once all the decorations will be set. We don't have one minute to waste.
Now that Kim brought the Christmas tree we can start adding the ornaments. We quickly fish to install the lights. The dazzling luminous garlands then the balls that we hang on either side of the greenish thorns of the fir tree. Half an hour later the entire tree is completely embellished. I step back for a few moments to admire our masterpiece. Hindsight helps to better appreciate the beauty of our work. A small 360° tour would not be too much. the curtains are illuminated, and the garlands bring more charm to this room. It finally comes back to life thanks to this Christmas spirit.
The living is much more luminous, also warm, bringing a balm to the heart of all that is in this room. It can be read on each of our faces. We admire our work with pride.

"So," resumes Silver clapping his hands to get our attention back. "I'm going to pick up your car later."

"Oh no. No, I..can handle it."

"No. I insist. It is better that you stay here to rest."

Since I am running out of arguments
I end up giving in to his proposal. Plus he's right that my cough is continuously tiresome for me. Even my throat is irritated and hurts me terribly. A little rest wouldn't hurt me while I wait. I look up at the clock in the dining room.  It's already 4 in the afternoon. How fast does time pass here?
Maybe it was because of all the preparations in anticipation of Christmas that accelerated time. Or maybe that's the magic of Christmas I've heard so often about. Although I've never been enthusiastic about Christmas, I must admit that this day had some almost fantastic specials. it was surely because of the songs that had been setting the tone since November, the illuminations, or the sumptuous dinner. Yes. The food. It was food the real spell that bewitched everyone during the holidays.

A few minutes later, Silver waves to us to tell us that he is leaving. so we are alone Kim and I in the whole house. However, when I turn around Kim disappeared. Then I hear a noise in the garage and I rush there.
He has taken off his shirt and is bending over the engine.

" What are you doing?"

" Just some repairs. "

We stay in silence for a while before I advance closer to him.

" Hold that for me please." He says putting a tool in my hand.

" About my car..."

" Yes."

This time he replies with his soft voice as he locked his eyes on mine. My pulse intensified at the sound of his voice.
His gaze alone was, indeed, enough to knock someone out of his mind,  or I was just very manipulative.

" Never mind."

" Why did you become a racer?"

I am a little surprised by his questions. Since he already know about my brother I thought he would have connected the dots.

" To follow my brother's path." Basic answer.  " Since the day I saw him drive in a race I was mesmerized by how cool he looked. I nearly begged him to teach me how to drive as well. It's not like I was nearly close to the talent he has but the race was the only thing that I had left of him."  I paused followed by a subtle bitter.
