Your eyes widen in surprise as blood then left your lips, you finally fell on the ground in pure exhaustion and pain. You could only weakly watch him in shock while Iguro managed to finish off the demon with a few more blows before it finally fell down the ground, turning into bitter ashes.

And there he stood without even panting, his heterochromia eyes snapped its gaze at your poor form.

"I–" you were about to talk but your cough wouldn't let you.

"Pathetic," he spat.

The serpent pillar then kneeled down to try and carry your pitiful body out of his own will, if he did have a choice and you weren't a co-worker that Mitsuri loved to hangout with? Iguro would've really let you die like that and won't really care, you're nothing but a stranger anyways.

His words hurt you like a batch of daggers stabbing into your chest without a stop, but even if he was like that to you. Iguro was still the one who ended up saving you, so you really shouldn't be feeling bad about him right now.

After all, he did care about you even if he just saved you because of the obvious reason.

"Iguro-san!" there.

It was the voice of your friend, just when you thought you'll be having an alone time with the serpent pillar did she really have to enter and ruin things.

"Oh thank goodness! [First Name]-chan!" Mitsuri's voice could be heard as frantic footsteps then followed, "She's safe! Shinobu's on her way! Hurry up Iguro-san she needs to be taken to the butterfly estate immediately!"

And with that being said, Iguro fastened his pace with you in his hold. Even when you were trying so hard to stay awake for them, the black haired man never once took a glance down at your form to even check if you were still alive or not.

You couldn't help but feel disappointed, but anyways. Why was he going to care if you die or not though? It isn't really his business as you are just a co-worker who's in a verge of dying because of some weak demon.

Now that you think of it, what were they going to say about you going home injured? Are they going to spread some nasty rumours? Is Oyakata-sama going to have you punished?

Gosh you didn't want to know, you just hope they won't be asking questions about what happened when you finally get to the butterfly estate safe and sound.

"Shinobu-chan!" Mitsuri cried in panic when the insect pillar greeted her sight, "Iguro-san found [First Name]-chan like this and we need her to be taken immediately to the butterfly estate! Can you perhaps do something to aid some small injuries before we finally head on? I don't know what to do! She's been trying do hard to stay awake to and she's–"

The love pillar finally let out a bloody scream of horror when she saw you unconscious in Iguro's arms, "She finally closed her eyes! There's not time for aiding small injuries! Please hurry up!"

"Calm down Kanroji, she won't be dying."

Not on my watch.

"I have a few medicine she could drink to help her carry on until we can get back to my estate," Shinobu muttered while browsing into her pocket. A small container of medicine was then in her hold, "Make her drink this. It'll help her!"

Mitsuri took the small container and opened the lid, her hand lead it to your slightly opened lips making you drink the substance. Iguro wasn't stopping though since you are in a condition where if he doesn't fasten up his speed, you'll be dead the moment he takes you back to the butterfly estate.

"We're almost there!" the insect pillar announced as she doubled her speed, "She's going to make it! Iguro-san please hurry up!"

The said pillar could only glare at her in anger, "You're going to pay me for saving your friend."

And by that did he quicken his pace than earlier, his eyes looked around for any possible shortcuts or signs that they were almost there but there was none. He would've taken the tree route, jumping on each branch to easily locate the butterfly estate. But Iguro wasn't going to do that with you in his hold, you were quite heavy for him to function properly and it'll only be the reason why there will be a funeral held if he took that route.

That's why he's stuck there on the ground running with the other pillars who's definitely worried about you, he himself never really understand why Mitsuri and Shinobu would do anything for you to be alive. He gets it that you're a friend, but what's so special about you that makes them want to save you?

What's up with their love for you?

"I can see the estate!" Mitsuri and Shinobu chorused which caused him to sprint faster.

There the butterfly estate came to view, five girls were at the gates in hopes to greet Shinobu back. Only for them to gasp in surprise when your unconscious body came to view.

"We need to treat her wounds, now!" Shinobu ordered, "Gather up the materials needed as I am going to perform surgery for some of her injuries, Aoi please lead Iguro-san to the room necessary for the operation. I'll be there in a second!"

The black haired girl immediately nodded, "Please follow me Iguro-sama!"

Iguro was quick enough to follow her and when Mitsuri was about to do it also, she was stopped by another girl. Her dazed look and calm smile made the love pillar stand there stupidly as three other girls appeared.

"Please remain seated at the waiting area Kanroji-sama, we cannot have you going inside the room until [Last Name]-sama is stable after surgery!" the three little girls chorused.

This made her take a step back and bite her lip worriedly.

"Hang in there [First Name]-chan!"
