I'm in Colon, nag-aantay ng taxi and it's dark already kaya halos mga taxi na dumadaan ay may laman. I irritatingly brushed my hair with my hands bago sinoot ang hood nang hoodie ko. This is frustrating to wait for hours. I can't book a grab since my signal here is slow.
Naramdaman ko naman na may taong nakatayo sa gilid ko and it was unexpected because it is my student. I know her kahit kakasimula lang ng klase dahil mayor siya ng class niya and pasaway din kaya palaging nababanggit ang pangalan sa office namin.
Our eyes met but she didn't recognized me since I'm wearing a mask.
My phone rang and I immediately got it from my pocket.
"Where are you Liss?" Asked Mary in the other line. She's my best friend since college and we are living together in my condo unit.
"I'm still in Colon. I'm waiting for a taxi but they are all occupied. How can I go in Talisay in this situation?" I released a frustrated sigh.
"Do you want me to fetch you?" I shook my head even tho she will not see it. Talisay is too far kapag pumunta pa siya dito.
"No, don't sweat it. I can handle myself."
"Okay then, call me if you need someone to fetch you."
"Yes, bye." I ended the call and patiently waited for a taxi.
May beggar na dumaan sa harapan ni Cyril at taranta niyang kinuha ang wallet niya. Without even looking in her wallet she fished out a lot of bills at binigay sa mama. I even heard her say thank you kaya napangisi ako sa ilalim ng mask ko. Who would say thank you when you are the one who gives?
A few moments passed ay may pumaradang sasakyan sa harapan namin. An old guy came out and give the key to her. She thanked the old man and I thought she'll leave already but to my surprise she stops in front of me.
"I'm sorry for listening to your conversation a while ago Miss but I'm on my way to Talisay to eat in Il Corso. I can drop you off if you want." She said while scratching her neck. I looked at her blankly and weighing if I should go with her or not. She's my student so I can trust her. Before I can even speak she handed me her two ID's. A national ID and her school ID.
"I'm not a bad person Miss. Hindi lang kaya ng konsensya ko na iwan ka rito. Maraming loko-loko pa naman." Paliwanag niya kaya naman tumango na lang ako. When she saw that she immediately open the shotgun seat.
Maalaga.
Nakapasok na ako sa sasakyan at umikot naman siya para makapasok sa driver seat. I thought she's a minor bakit nagdadrive na ito? But I shrugged it off. I'm amazed that she knows how to drive.
She sexily manoeuver the car. Ngayon ko lang na pansin that she's only wearing a white dress shirt na naka open ang apat na butones at may white sando naman ito sa loob she partnered it with a maong shorts and a black slides. Typical her.
"Where should I drop you off Miss?" Basag niya sa katahimikan.
"In Il Corso." I answered shortly. She nodded.
Her phone rang and she picked it up and put it in the loud speaker since she is driving.
"Hey love, what's this Maya talking shit about? Is she serious when she said that you are checking out your instructor there?" I heard the person in the other line said. That caught my attention. Who she was checking? And love? Is she lesbian perhaps? Since the person in the call is a she.
"Hey that's not true. I was just admiring her toned legs, Uno. She caught my attention." She chuckled afterwards. Nasa kanila na ang atensyon ko. I'm curious who is that instructor she was checking out. But I've a hunch that it was me.
