Monty had known Catherine for as long as she had been in MI6. Catherine had even helped recruit her. Catherine had been aware of Project Neverland since its inception and had approved of it with caution born from her experiences with Erica and Trixie.
Monty trusted Catherine's judgement in all areas but romance. Monty had a deep disdain for Alexander that had persisted through all seventeen years she'd known him, no matter what Catherine's view of him was at the time. Monty just didn't see the appeal.
"He's a fraud," Monty had told her.
"You just don't understand," Catherine said.
