An oath for being inducted into Spy School's typography club that Zoe mentioned wanting to start at the beginning of SSBI
As a font-natic, I pledge to uphold the values of font-natics everywhere. I will promote the values of good typography everywhere I go, emphasizing legibility and aesthetics on all written language. I pledge to step past the constraining bounds of Times New Roman and Arial and learn to appreciate even the most under-appreciated fonts and find the beauty even in the most hated fonts. Yes, even Durkin.
I also pledge to help foster increased awareness of font choices in my community and to teach others the history of my craft, this beautiful art of type-faces. I know the importance of typography and the impact it has had on the world, and I will use my typography knowledge to positively impact the world, not just by preventing embarrassing font choices, but also through forensic typography, solving crimes and making the world a better place.
I fully understand and embrace the gravity of the choice I am making in taking this pledge. Going forward, I am now, and will forever be, a font-natic.
