Trixie's POV

My parents got divorced when I was really little, so I've never had any memories of the two of them being together. I can only think of a handful of times in probably the past decade where they've even been at the same place at the same time.

This had always just been the way things were. I couldn't even picture a world in which this wasn't the case.

But then, just this week, Mom, Dad, and Erica were all on the news for apparently attempting to steal artifacts from the British Museum. I got all these texts from them just claiming this is all a case of mistaken identity and not to worry, but the whole thing was still bizarre. A whole bunch of kids at school started asking me questions about what was going on, and I just didn't know what to tell them.

Yesterday, this whole big announcement was made in the news that this was, in fact, a ginormous case of mistaken identity and that all of the people involved were actually innocent, which was a huge relief.

Erica called me soon after the announcement (from Mom's phone for some reason), and just before hanging up, she casually slipped in that it looked like Mom and Dad were getting back together. I tried to get her to tell me more, but all she did was say that this was a terrible idea.

I really had no idea what to think of this. I mean, it would be nice if my parents could actually manage to be in the same room as each other from time to time. It didn't make any sense that Erica would be opposed to that. Maybe she knows something I don't, but it's hard to tell. It always is in this family.
