"Are we seriously going to watch James Bond?" Erica asked.

"Of course," Ben said. "What else would we watch?"

"I don't know. But why would we want to watch fake spying when we're actually spies?"

"Erica, have you ever actually watched a James Bond movie before?" Ben asked.

"Dad tried to show me one when I was three, but I thought it was boring and left," Erica said.

"So you've never seen a James Bond movie?"

"Well, no."

"But you're a spy."

"Exactly," Erica said. "I already know how it really is and I have my whole life. There's never been any reason to watch some movie about it."

"You need to watch a James Bond movie," Ben said. "People like Murray reference and draw inspiration for their own actual evil schemes all the time."

"Ben, I don't watch any movies," Erica said. "Haven't you noticed that?"

"Yeah. But you still agreed to watch one today."

"Only because you wanted to," Erica said honestly.

"Well, I'll be here the whole movie," Ben said. "But I really think you're going to like this. Or, at least find it funny."

"There is no way I am going to like this."

"Just laugh at how stupid it is and enjoy it," Ben said. "Now shush. It's starting."

And so, Erica ended her life-long streak of days where she didn't watch James Bond movies with a day where she did, finally seeing the true story of her dad's favorite fictional character. It was nothing like Erica's actual life as a spy, and she hadn't exactly expected it to be, but she had to admit that Ben was right about her finding some of the more unrealistic parts of it funny, though she found a whole lot more to be unrealistic than he did.

Once the movie was over, Ben turned to Erica and asked, "So, how was it?"

"Fine, I suppose," Erica said. "Weird. Did you enjoy these movies?"

"Yeah. But it's hard to take them seriously now," Ben said. "They kind of just remind me of Murray and your dad."

"Same here," Erica said. "But I'm glad I got to watch this with you instead of them."

I originally typed this in the dark and was therefore unable to see my keyboard. At one point my screen also fell over so I couldn't see it, and I was too lazy to pick it back up, but I just kept typing, so you can thank my (kind of reluctant) proofreader (aka my brother) for saving you from having to decipher this mess:
